What can be new in CryEngine 3?

Post » Tue Dec 02, 2008 10:42 am

Hey Guys!
What do you think is new in CryEngine 3? And have you a wish for the new Engine?
I think more realistic then Engine 2 they can't do.
I hope that they don't do the graphics to high, because much of my friends haven't got a very good pc.
But I think the new game has many surprises for us :D

(Sorry for my bad english)

Worse sunshafts technology, optimized average-shooter graphics.

let me guess - you think the game shouldnt be on consoles, true gamers play on PC?
fanboyism at its most self-destructive.
what we've seen so far was almost only console footage, and since consoles are weaker than pcs that footage cant really keep up with crysis 1 graphically. noone expected that to happen, i know how many must feel now.
but in all seriousness, watch the "E3 3D Trailer", thats the "PC version running live" (translates to: a prerendered video that is close to what the pc version will look like or looks like at the moment).
Crysis 2 is going to look better than Crysis 1 on the same hardware and thats all that matters. Anyone who suggests something different cant be taken seriously.

CryEngine 3 is no different to CryEngine 2.

There's only a few new things added, such as console support, physics driven animations, a new overhauled Trackview editor, there's probably more to it.

In terms of graphics though, it will still be a very top notch looking shooter for PC. Consoles though will have some sacrifices, but it will depend entirely on the console, I guess.

Check http://www.crytek.com for some features, you'll be amazed by what this engine can do. :)

Watch the videos and you will see.

CryEngine 3 has deferred lighting, global illumination, Stereoscopic 3D, and console support. There are many other features that i dont have the time to mention here. :)

They look the same to me. No difference to what Crysis has.
