Escort Nechayev...

I don't find it to be too hard.

Once I lost all my sound and the whole enemy team turned invisible, so all I could do was playing a medic (Light bodytype) and guard/revive the prisoner. And basicly I won the mission while my team dealt with the enemies.

This is one initiate Problem of the game, imo. Technically, every map can be won by spawntrapping the Attacking side. Container City and Aquarium are very easy to figure out, but once people know the other maps as well, you'll either spawntrap or be spawntrapped.

I've played where we were security and spawn trapped the enemy on the missle one. :spotted owl: The turrets prevent you from spawn camping but 2 narrow hallways that come out of the spawn kind of counteract the anti spawn camp turrets IMO.

the ramp is were a well cordinatted strike comes in really handy. most of the security comes in from across the road, so if you get a 2-3 snipers with barnet and drognav rifles on the ledge overlooking the road, you can suppress the security long enough to get a couple heavies with MGs and AGLs up to pin them down, and when the VIP is through the gate, the snipers can take over the wall and tower MGs and cover the retreat.

The plan sounds good and all, but where are you gonna get that well of a coordinated team together? lol

It's a good map, it really is, but it's difficult.

It takes a long amount of time, but not hard to do when you have even one medic worth his salt.

@ OP. I've won on both sides. This is one of my favorite missions..no matter what side of the battle I'm on. I always enjoyed the intensity.

I have completed the mission on both sides repeatedly also, I just think that the choke point at the ramp is a tad more difficult than the other missions.

Basicly every map has long corridors leading out of a spawn. And the turrets are always on the far end in the spawn. So if the enemy team is sitting around the corner, you're dead once you pop your head out.

On the second stage of Terminal (open the safe), there is a direct route from one spawn zone to the other. The team which gets there first can easily control that one exit and thus force the opposition to take a certain route.

For this map i actually think the hardest part is often bringing the pass code to the door to let nechayev out.

There are few ways into that courtyard area you have to cross and its too easy for entrenched security to switch to the other area you can come out of. Plus their spawn is right near that point at that time in the map.

Before going through the 'glass' doors between the stairs and the large area with the ramp there's a path to the left that takes you up to the top area of the ramp. While team mates are fighting away in the bottle neck I go up this path as an Resistance Engineer, set up a turret, and shoot at any enemy running towards the ramp/bottleneck. This distracts the enemy and slows the flow of enemies to the bottle neck which is enough for the rest of the team to move forward.

Best way to finish that is to have a team push the second the bot reaches the door. Using an engineer set up a turret in the little room facing the door to the right of the hack wall with a mine in the doorway. The Op sets up the box and then hides behind the computers near the opposite door. From there the team needs to set up inside the rooms to make sure unwanted guests don't get in.

Like most Op objectives it's about making sure progress doesn't get reversed, so the Op (or Ops) Hacking need to drop their PDAs and kill when the time comes. Too many Ops treat it like an Engineer Objective and just keep working while the enemies are killing their comrades.

OP here,

I'm gonna go ahead and change the topic of this thread to help and tips about ANY part of any mission (Not just escorting Necheyev).
Just to start the conversation back up and provide an example of a question I'm going to ask:
What is a good way/tactic to get the first objective for Reactor done (resistance). The part where you have to hack one of the two ventillation systems.

Thanks,

There is no good way to do the first objective of Reactor as resistance :D Personally I always start out as engi to open the bridge as it's almost mandatory if you wanna even dream about getting the ventilation open. Other than that you're mostly down to luck whether you have two or more operatives in the same place for fast enough hacking or good enough people covering your back and overall a [censored] security team. I've personally once managed to hack the ventilation system, once I got to 80% and the server crashed. The one time I managed to get it, I also blew up the reactor single handedly. I was like best operative, best soldier and best overall :D

As for sec tower, a good engi sniper/lobster soldier and medics who don't mind pushing it regardless of deaths does a lot on that map when you get to the ramp part. Even a single enemy sniper can do so much harm for the team that it's sad. That's why you have to have someone countersnipe, pretty much.

These are multiplayer experiences, though.

I have completed the mission on both sides repeatedly also, I just think that the choke point at the ramp is a tad more difficult than the other missions.

Best way to circumvent that is to not keep showing up at the bottom of the ramp and working your way up every single time. Come at the enemies from the top level, hit them from the side, or take the stairs up to hit them from behind, then move to the escort part of the mission when the enemies are mostly down.
