CARB-9 VS KROSS

Post » Sun May 01, 2011 7:53 pm

wondering which you think is better?
i keep reading about how overpowered the carb-9 would be, but when i use it i see flaws?!
i use the KROSS smg, i think its superiour in many ways, i can nearly kill the entire team with one mag (under gd conditions, with buff)

i prefer my KROSS with muzzle brake (silencor on operative), enhanced iron sights, speed sling and drum mag.
Normally im a light engineer (so obvious advanced weapon buff)

IMO its has a higher rate of fire, better accuracy, better hip fire, better dps,
better reloading speed and better with drum mag (thus more crowd control) i even find it do-able with silencer.

So like i said, what do you think? give them a try and find out?

I think it boils down to personal preference and play style. I've used both and honestly, I can't say why I have the carb-9 equipped versus the kross or vice versa.

I still periodically just switch up weapons during offline matches just to see.

Although off topic, I really wish they would give us a firing range, where we could test out different weapon and accessory combinations.

The recoil the Kross gets only affects accuracy, while the Carb-9 gets physical recoil, so you constantly have to realign your aim. Also, the Kross has the largest amount of spare ammo of all SMGs.

It all depends on your playstyle, if you are more of a bounce of the wall shoot while in the air and while sliding, the carb/buldpaun/tampa is superior to the kross.
If you are the sort of player that carefully Aim for head with ironsight you want the kross/galactic etcetc.

I personally do not consider the carb overpowered, it has very nice damage, but it also one of the guns that has the least potential for iron sighting / aiming.

Edit: Nothinglord I am either misunderstanding what you just said or, I have to disagree, the galactic has the most ammo.

I hate the Kross. I am a Carb-9 fanatic, but I've been using the Bulpdaun more, because it is accurate at a much longer range. The damage decrease is really only noticeable in those, "Oh [censored], I just turned a corner and there's someone right in my face." situations.

How does the Kross have better dps? It has the same rate of fire as the Carb-9, but does less damage per bullet.

I may have to give the kross another go, because I frequently iron sight with my carb-9 and have no problems..

I thoroughly enjoy both the the Kross and the Carb9. However, no SMG has a faster ROF then any other they all fire at the same speed even though the Kross may SEEM like it fires faster. The Kross does the second least amount of dmg per bullet out of all the SMGs with the galactic taking the last place. Carb9 does the most dmg per shot with the Baldpin doing second most dmg per bullet. But the Kross and Galactic both have better accuracy when ADS and I believe while hip firing as well then the carb9 does. The DPS really depends on what how good you are at makig your bullets connect with the gun you use. The Kross and galactic both have very minimal recoil so its easier to make the shots land although they are weak. The carb9 has more recoil but more dmg per bullet so if you learn to tame its recoil it can def do more DPS then either the Kross of Galactic.

It really depends on the player and how the gun is used. I tend to use the Kross with a drum mag up close while hip-firing / spray n prayin but can def see how minimal the dmg can be. The Carb9 is also good while hip firing although it is better if you spray in long burst instead of just holding down the trigger. However, the Carb 9 really shines over the Kross when you use it as a medium distance / close distance gun. Throw a red dot on it and you basically have an AR with more ammo.

You can definatly iron sight with carb aswell, and its somewhat more accurate then hipfire, but its still quite lively.
The Kross, Buldpaun and Galactic give you some amazing ironsighting.

If any weapon is "overpowered" its the buldpaun since its the best of the two worlds hrhrhr.

Teh bulp is a pretty cool gun and doesn't afraid of nothing, but for those levels where you're literally rubbing cheeks with the enemy, I'll still take a Carb over it.

Or, I'll the Carb-9 primary with Bulp secondary.

The Kross can be deadly in the hands of someone whose playstyle fits it - yes, the damage is anemic, but it moves so little damn near all of those BBs will hit where you put it. For me it just doesn't work, but that's why we have many other SMGs.

Apart from the Tampa(x) - that's just crap :P

I always run medium class unless i'm a medic or operative.

And when I do, I always run with the Carb-9(primary) and the Kross(secondary). I don't [censored] with those AR's.

Sometimes I like to go with my Doom Bulpdaun, that thing is beast, especially with the improved weapon buff.

Depends on what I'm doing with them.

Every weapon has pros and cons, if the pros line up with your playing style or the cons are masked by your playing style then take that gun, if your pros don't line up or the cons become obvious don't take it.

I like them all and have various characters set up with them in different ways.

The CARB-9 is my medium range SMG, the Kross is my short range SMG. I suppose the Bulpdaun is my long-range SMG, but I never use it because it doesn't feel like it hits hard.

The Tampa is basically a shotgun, if you're the kind of person who likes ambushing people and unloading a clip from right next to them, the Tampa is a good weapon. I don't use it for anything else though.

Finally, the UMP. Its one of the more balanced SMGs. But im not looking for a balanced SMG. It reminds me of the Kalt. Quick to pull out, fast, accurate, but just doesn't hit very hard, and I love powerful guns.

All SMGs have the same rate of fire (909 rounds per minute / 15~ rounds per second). The kross does less damage per shot than the carb-9, but has significantly better accuracy and stability, along with faster reload time, more ammo per clip (drum mags), and more overall ammo (drum mags).

I used the carb-9 for a bit, it's a nice backup weapon for spraying an area with suppressive fire, but for actually singling out a target the kross is definitely a better choice. I do like how you can make the Carb-9 look like a tommy gun, though =P

I kind of go back and forth with the Carb and Kross.

Both hipfire like crazy, and with a drum mag and grip you just hose down people at will.

I do however like the iron sights of the Carb more, and it has a decent feel to it.

That's where a SDK would come in handy, making maps for weapons training or just using them to see which gun suits you better..

Kross is more accurate, which would be a great stat if it was an AR, but it's an SMG. SMG's, by design, are close combat weapons and so stability is more favorable than accuracy. Carb-9 has stability in spades, especially with a foregrip. I rarely get into long range engagements, I'm more of a run up on you, blast you, slide into you then blast you some more type of guy.

For me, I like Kross > Carb-9. But as someone else posted above, it's all a matter of personal preference.

Hate the Carb-9, second only to the Tampa in terms of [censored] handling.

Kross w/ Muzzle Break, Speed Sling, Extended Mags and YeoTek RDS is pretty much my go-to weapon. It's all-round reliable.

I used to only use the Kross, until I tried the Carb 9 with some attachments (muzzle break, grip or sling) and it is definitely my new permanent secondary. Best SMG easily. Especially after watching the tournament. A couple of players rocked the Kross, but most had Carb 9.

I must ask whats this talk about the speed sling, Is there some bug I completly missed.

I heard mention of the sling actually offering more stability some time back but never really explored it..

Can't really figure out why you would want it over front grip otherwise.

Please excuse my curiosity :P

i love the kross...that being said i wish it was stonger but i chose it for stability and ammo capacity though i do switch it out for the sronger buldpaun (doom series) cause it deals more damage a the expense of less ammo im moe of a pin point shoote than a spray and pray anyway im always sad when i switch to my tokmak cause im usually in the middle of shooting when i run out
