In regards to only having two suit modes. Please read :)

Post » Sat Dec 13, 2008 11:58 pm

there are 2 main modes, armor, and steath, and then two sub modes that you can use at the same time as the primary modes.

Do you think they'll give a classic controls option?

I would use the classic option over the 2 mode option because you have to be more involved and know what aspect of the suit you are willing to sacrifice by changing modes. i.e. sacrificing armor for strength, not useing both at the same time This aids balence as well.

the 3 modes should work like this:

Armor Mode: more resistance to damage, normal jump and normal speed, sprinting does no consume energy.

Power Mode: Normal resistance to damage, High Jump and Fast speed, Sprinting Consumes energy and works like it did on Crysis 1

Stealth Mode: Less resistance to damage, normal jump and normal speed, (sprinting possibly disabled)

Thats really how it should be, and thats what i had in mind :)

I really wish a Crytek member picked up on this.

Agree completely.
The two suit modes thingy totally svcks
And apparently, you can't run without switching to power mode - which is crap. You use up energy every time you run, and also you can't run in the other mode rytek plz plz plz plz plz plz make some changes to this

i rlly dont understand y they have to change the PC controls just because of the consoles?? they could very well leave it the same or improve it but not simplify it because its not necesary for PC. If they make it E and Q that means theyre also taking away leaning... that's just stupid. I dont understand y some devs think that just because a game is multiplatform it has to be the same on all. If one platform obviously has advantages, they should use them. I know that this is probably EA's thing but Crytek has thwe final say im sure.

They haven't taken away lean from single player only mp. Thats what the people at Eurogamer said.

They could have just used the suit controls from Crysis 1 on a console controller. Just hold down a button and use the stick to select a suit mode like a wheel. Many games do that kind of thing, and it worked fine in the original Crysis.

Another reason for the return of classic controls.

I think a nanosuit with just 2 modes is like playing as a "normal guy" with the stealth ability. Know what I think of?

There is a passive Speed and strength mode which enables you to jump large gaps and move faster. For the Xbox360, the shoulder buttons can be toggled intermittently to turn armour mode or stealth mode on. Switching from one to the other is instant and does not require you to turn one off before activating the other.

Play testing Crysis 2 MP is a hell of a lot of fun, when a chosen few of you get to play in the Tech Test, I'm sure you will all be blown away. I was genuinely nervous that the pace couldn't live up to Crysis Wars on the PC, gladly I can say that the map design, balance, game modes and stunning visuals will place Crysis 2 as one of the best MP experiences around.

On a side note, it feels different to all of the current shooters out there, the Nanosuit 2.0 truly is a complex piece of art that adds an extra dimension to the game. You will not be disappointed.
