I installed it no problem, and added the limited edition content without a hitch. Okay, that's where the functional stopped and the problems began.
When trying to access multiplayer. . .
1) CD-key did not save. (Fixed by un-checking save login info, entering the key, then save login info again)
2) "Serial code currently in use" error. (Restarted PC. Installed CCleaner, cleaned out my registry.)
3) When the above problems were finally solved, it turns out that ranked servers don't work. They are broken. In fact, everyone on the game just talks in chat while in lobby as the games never start. Apparently they work for some people, but from what I understand, most I spoke with while waiting for games that would never start could not get a ranked game to work like myself. I tried 6 different servers, and the match-making way. No luck.
I played unranked for a bit, but that's no fun when you can't get access to better modules. I also hear peoples levels are resetting.
So I decided to play singleplayer, seeing as the multiplayer is a mess right now. Yes, it looks nice, although not as much so as the first game. The actually gameplay is very good, and the game has yet to crash on me. The overall execution is excellent, and the game appears to have had very high production values on the singleplayer front.
However, despite having no real qualms over the singleplayer aspect of the game, the product itself is disappointing. The game suffers from consollitis, I can't change the bells and whistles to suit my needs without modifying .ini files (64-bit, higher FOV please?). When they canned DX11 support, that was a let down since they were more or less bragging about it originally. I could live with later implementation of that though, so long as the game on launch was solid. As it turns out, it was not. The demo's multiplayer worked fine, and yet the final product is a disaster.
With all things said, I've paid for a partially finished product that I should have waited to pick up when it was fully functional and available for half the price.
Nothing from the big companies ever seems to launch right these days. I don't think I'll be pre-ordering any game out of EA again. They are always disappointing in one way or another.
