Bethesda, please do one minor change in next dlc

patrols in FO3 were so exciting and random.

added alot of cool possible battle scenarios into the game.

enclave fighting the outcasts while super mutants attack from a house. epic.

these encounters were some of the most enjoyable battles in the game.

the Brotherhood already come out of their base and walk around in a circle before entering their base again if you complete their quest,so why not add NCR and legion patrols who follow the road. (anyone seen brotherhood patrolling waste?)

:Dunscripted random occasional battles are win

Augh no. I'm sick of Legion assassins and patrols. Along the Colorado I run into Legion patrols, and in NCR parts of the Mojave I run into NCR Patrols. I dont like seeing either at this point.

We also know how they won't go quietly, and that the Legion can count on that.

i've never seen any NCR patrols where abouts on the map?

where are they near to?

they may be 'patrols' but they just hang about in the same place forever

i Think i understand what the OP meant... sure you see lots of random patrols, merchants, and so on. but none of the opposing factions patrols ever really Meet anywhere. the only unscripted fights i've seen were merchants Vs. Powder Gangers or radscorpions really.

next DLC no... but i'm on the PS3 so i try to pretend it doesn't exist til the same as fallout 3 happens. but a patch so the Legion and NCR patrols, even if only near forlorn hope or the river, actually Can coincide would be nice.

Edit as i started writing before the post above me: not sure. i sided with NCR a Lot so i see random 4-5 trooper patrols between Mojave outpost and Forlorn Hope now and then.

note: the time i Followed one, the most trouble they had was going too near a Nightstalker pack on the way back... met em while i was following Alastor.

i agree there's not any enemy patrols in the game, there is awar going on there should be patrols from all the different factions so its really a sad thing they didn't make this aspect of the game more fun and decided not to put enemy patrols in there game in various areas, in FO3 like the op said you would find patrols all over, enclave, talon mercs, outcast patrols etc.

Fiends outside of south Vegas use the sewers to attack merchants.
However most other attacks are scripted.

I've seen NCR and Legion patrols battling each other East of Nipton. Usually around the flyover near the Wolfhorn ranch (sometimes merchants here too), maybe a bit further North East as well, sort of Broc Flower Cave area.

The NCR/Legion/merchants that can fight (the timing isn't always right to see all three) by the bridge near wolfhorn is scripted and only happens the first time you approach that bridge. One of my fave spots and I wish it happened more often in the vanilla game. I know upon replays such becomes predictable but at least it gives a feeling of the factions being at war, like someone else said above.

The whole area near Searchlight/Legion camps has a few Legion patrols that occasionally see each other and fight, and a few Legion here and there will sometimes excite the NCR guards at the camps near the river but that's about all I've seen outside of Fiends/NCR.

IWS-Core-Patrols.esp ( Enable Faction Patrols )
Enable this to allow for NPC Factions to patrol roads and owned land. With this active you will see factions war with each other.

Dang, I didn't realise the bridge at Wolfhorn was scripted. I thought I'd seen it happen several times in that area in one play through, must have been mixing up different playthroughs.

I'll give that a go, thanks for the heads up :)

Except for everything being wrong with your statement your completely right.

I have run into legion patrols and NCR patrols that meet each other, between Forlorn Hope and Nelson and between Wolfwood Ranch and Novac

Seen lots of fights between the Legion and NCR while traveling the road. Especially between Wolfhorn Ranch and Novac. Every now and then I will save and just let loose with a Grenade Launcher against both factions. Kill em all.

You can go back there and you may see the Legion/NCR encounter/fight along the road between the bridge & that ranger station before Novac, if their patrolling times right. But the merchant caravan showing up on the bridge happens when you get close to it the first time, plus those Legion placed near the billboard sign won't reappear. You can purposely swing far wide of the bridge the first time and go back later to trigger it instead, if you want, as well. I've done that so I could trigger it while having a companion with me so they can join in the chaos. :D

And yeah....the increased spawn mod is awesome, I've been using that a lot myself lately.
