Server Issues

Post » Tue Jan 06, 2009 3:07 pm

Now my friends told me that if post this on the forums you guys wouldn't do anything but i'm starting to lose my faith in FPS's and every time a new game comes out the servers are never good. Now my internet is DSL but that is all we have up here so why should I and others have to suffer with the lag or decent servers while people with either money or parents with money get the overwhelming advantage with host and less lag? This isn't a demand but a plea that you change your server type to Dedicated so that it levels the playing field for all gamers. I under stand the gaming industry is a money powered force but I think game companies are forgetting the gamers and are just worrying about money. Your multi-player is my new favorite but with frame rate drops and lag with host advantage is making your game to be like Cod and Gears. I hope you read my forum post and take everything I said into consideration. Thank you and have a nice day.

I use DSL also due to that is all I can get...

I have issues from time to time as well...

I would like there to be dedi servers like homefront... but let me tell you this will not solve the issue for you on the xbox.

if this continues to be an issue for you I have only one suggestion, become a PC gamer like I used to be... then you can select the server you enter...

Agreed, I bridge my connection for my 360 through my computer and I have a t1 connection and I still suffer lag. I mean, I'll be armored up and melee a guy then unload half a clip into him and I'll die not him, but then when I watch the replay I just did a melee and fired like 4 shots. Latency is an issue but right now I'm using DSL as well and I have yet to get more then 2-3 bars at a time with a direct hardline connection and the same scenario happens. Host advantage is a pain in the ass, people with t1 connections who can afford it get an advantage and the rest of us suffer because of it, me, I bridge my connection through my computer because I'm on a college network so I can't ever be host because my nat settings suuuuck. Anyway, please address this issue. Crysis 2 is an amazing game and we would love to keep playing multiplayer but if there's an unfair advantage to the host then it isn't fun.

The game doesn't even use dedicated servers (on consoles), it relies on the P2P system. You lag because of your connection to the host or the host's connection to everyone else.
