AVG virus problem

Post » Sun Jan 11, 2009 2:48 am

Hi, I've been trying to get my AVG free edition to play nice with crysis 2 but it keeps marking the exe. as a virus and I have run out of ideas on my side. So far I've tried allowing a special rule in the firewall, redownloading it with the disc, and downloading it from the ea updater tool to no effect. If theres an answer on fixing this I would like to see it.

Thanks

So I take it you mean turn it off for this game specifically, and I would agree that the function should be there. Can't find it though.

Open AVG, at the top click Tools, click Advanced Settings. On the left side is a list, find PUP Exceptions. Now you need to click Add Exception and browse to the directory you installed crysis 2. There will be two files you have to add exceptions for...

Crysis2.exe and Crysis2Launcher.exe

Be sure to click Apply and then Ok when done. Now you should be able to run the program without issue.
