If you are looking for power armor you can get the training from the BoS questline or for doing the quest "for auld Lang syne". If not you can get combat armor reinforced MK 2 from gun runners or metal armor reinforced in Bonnie springs

It is arcade gannons quest you get after going through certain experiences with him as your follower and when you get to the part in the main quest where you must take care of the BoS he will activate the quest. I'll edit in a link that might help.

Implant and Toughness is your best armour.

Vault Security, Space Suit, Advance Science Suit is recommended and Reinforce Leather Amour is recommended.

IMO, the weight/protection/availability are Boomer flight/jump suit, Vault 34 Security Armour and power armour. Power armour is very heavy but it gives you a strength boosts so it's effectively the weight of combat armour. The Space Suit is by far the best radiation protection, partly because it's stronger but also because you can use the rebreather with it, which I don't think you can with the others.

Weight's really important to me, I don't like lugging to much stuff around and you move quicker the lighter the clothing.

Right now I'm running around with Vault 34 security armor. That plus the +10 from toughness/implant gives you 26 with no movement penalties, but unless you add it by console, it's kinda a [censored] to get.

Spoiler
Can steal combat armour of the shelf at the ranger station at Camp Gulf. More Combat armour can be found at destroyed Caravan Locations.

Gun Runners shop and theirs a Gun Runner at the 188. Mick & Ralph's and Van Grafts. Can get some weapons ammo and I think armour from a man at Camp McCarran.

Same set-up. People make a big deal out of Vault 34. It's not that tough as long as you're properly supplied.
