The Proximity Alarm: There are no beeps; what happened?!

Post » Mon Jan 19, 2009 12:28 am

Can someone tell me what's going on? In the demo builds you clearly hear beeping noises. But now in the retail game I hear nothing. What's going on? Why call it an alarm when there is no audio at all.

All I can rely on now are the red bars illuminating in the bottom left of the HUD. Hardly an "alarm". I know I'm not the only one to notice this. Anybody?

Its a different sound then the demo, as well its proabably not upgraded.

At level 1 its really detects a few feet, but as its levels. It gets much larger in radius.
So you may have to deal with the red bars until about upgrade 2 or 3.

hi guys you got there before me lol... yeh this is right on further investigation at level 1 its just the red bars and as you level up the beeps get louder and more harsh and also the bars start to flash, think it goes to level 8 or 11 where the range steadliy increases too..

Read my own topic post on page 4 about this topic:

I touch on possible fixes and how to hear it and what to here for. It isn't the same sound as in the demo.
