Crysis 2 impossible to have fair play online cause of ping?!

Post » Mon Jan 19, 2009 8:36 pm

Greetings!

Out of 12 players in online Team-Multiplayer 10 have a red ping, 1 a yellow (not me or my friends) and 1 with a full green one - the one player from the United States.

Guess who is always (in different games, at different times of the day) the MVP?!

Yup - always the one with the green ping - no chance, no fairness - in a shooter the only thing that counts is a good ping.

They'll update so if you are playing solo online without being in a party, they'll put you in a game with people in your geographic area so you'll have less issues peer to peer.

However people do like to play with their friends on the other side of the globe or country so the yellow bars will have some prevalence in games where you are going to be in a party of a squad.

To tell you the honest truth tho I think it would be wise for future games with a good MP mode (good in regards to variety of modes, weapons, and maps not connectivity) to do dedicated servers. And as added incentive to make money offer a service of dedicated servers for games with top notch servers. People don't have to pay but than again Caveat Emptor if you don't wanna fork over money for better quality monthly (if you don't know latin it means Let the Buyer Beware)

Hehe...ok - thx for your time for a repost, BUT:

1) - there is NOT any difference if I am alone joining an online MP game or with 1 additonal friend - red ping.

2) according dedicated servers - HOMEFRONT does have dedicated servers - and its now 1 1/2 week out - horrible red pings, bad cons...so that does not work too if you play from Europe out with 20 Americans - they do have green/yellow pings - we in Europe dark red.

And no - I do have VDSL internet connection with 16Mbit down and 1Mbit up.

Regarding Homefront, a red or yellow ping on a dedicated server is not as bad as it is on a p2p game like this or MW2 or Black Ops. It's more common on Homefront to see red and yellow pinged players finish high on the scoreboard. I can speak personally about that, I've had plenty of very successful matches even with a red ping. I mainly play as infantry using either the ACR or AK assault rifles with iron sights.

I can see what your problem is already. Just look at his profile pic! >.<

If you expect to get a decent ping from Jabba's palace on Tatooine, you're kidding yourself.

OH you mean like Black ops did with the Locale only, where it DOESN'T find people in your location but 1500 miles away huh?

What an amazing Update.

Don't **** THIS up Crytek.

Guess who is the MVP right now
right its me.
guess why.
right because i was the one with the green bar of death XD

I think they only need to get more servers which can handle the traffic.

****. these are not nessecary because all consols are even and so they can improve it for this case. you only need dedicated servers if you dont know which hardeware you get take the pc for xsample.
