Power Mode

Post » Tue Jan 20, 2009 3:13 pm

Anyone as concerned about Power mode as I am? I mean, in the demo the guy playing couldn't jump while running fast in power mode without jumping 10 feet in the air. Jumping while in maximum speed in Crysis 1 gave you an incredible freedom of movement. If anything, how high you jump should be controllable, by say, how long you hold the space bar? Just a thought.

Circle Jumping is gone.

I'm kind of glad its gone. The change of pace may actually be really nice.

Wouldn't say it's gone... I meant there's no evidence that it is (but you're right it probably is). Even if it is, I'm more concerned about not being able to jump over small objects while running fast without it being really high.

I'm hoping there is a shift (or trigger for console) modifier that controls your boost. Maybe double-tapping the jump key would allow you to "power jump" and simply pressing it once would result in a normal jump even when running at full speed.

I didn't know about circle jumping until now... And all I've got to say is lol.

Never tried that in Crysis. Just seriously, I couldn't stop laughing, I've done circle jumping in TF2, CSS, but Crysis really tossed a big one on that.

Lol it's not nearly that bad anymore but when competing it takes a big role in skilled players' styles.

Perhaps they are just balancing things out a bit more or there could be something that allows you to play that way specifically with the suit customisation.

It would be great if you could control the height that you could jump and also the energy it takes away from you. Iv hated having to use strength jump to get on a box then running out of energy and having to wait before jumping up onto the next obstical.

I would rather like to see climbing feature so that you would not have to wait for energy to recharge to strengtjump for every bit higher obsticle that can not be jumped with normal jump.

Power mode is amazing, useful as it is if you jump like hell and on the other side where you jump there's a big hole and a high jump would make you get in that hole and die, that would be sad would it?
Power jump should be controllable, if not it will be really annoying in situation's like i just said.
