Um, you need to ask a question before someone can provide an answer to it....

when you quote him the question appears instead of 32,
To do both you only need to press the smart button (lb)
to do the moves manually you have to use a combo of jump and crouch, I have no idea how to manually mantle personally

i'm not mean, well, not really :whistling:
every special move is with the same button, the SMART button, going over or under(or straight ahead) just depends on where your looking(and if your pressing the smart button)

Doing things manually, is more about timing, since you can do things faster if you do them manually.

Ex. (using smart only) running towards a low wall, you reach it, you climb/mantle over it.
(manually) running towards a low wall, you jump before you reach it, and quickly vault over the top, eliminating having to climb it.

To mantle manually, I am not sure, but I would think it would be to hold down jump to initiate a climb or vault.

when sliding under soothing you just look down but when your sliding in to cover you haft to press b. So no you just need to look up.

I remember in one video Wedgwood said if you want to climb over the object, you have to look up. If you want to slide under, you have to look down.

It would automatically jump up and grab what you were looking at.
If you wanted to move a bit faster, you could jump before you hit the sensor.

I imagine combining manual movements (duck/jump) with smart button...

So you sprint at a wall with smart, and jump early with 'A' saving you a second of scrambling up from using the SMART button alone.

Not sure how ducking might affect smart in a positive way...

From one of H0rses old posts I remember some guy who played the game at a convention said that you could not air duck/crouch so the only moves where you need to duck are slides.

[EDIT]Found it: C) No air crouching, but the vaulting and mantling take care of most of the cases you'd need air crouching. Plus, the lower the ledge is relative to your body, the faster it will be, so in effect, you get the same speed benefit in pre-jumping a vault. i.e. in the examples you give, you'd always do a vault, but when you do anything to hit the vault higher, you'll decrease the duration of the vault move.”

It seems only jumping will help you to do things manually.

LoL, and I've perfected the air duck too! (at least in BFBC2... love using windows as doors :D)

So ducking is only used to hide behind cover then.... that's good.

Is there a way to interactively use cover do you know? akin to Gears of War is the first example that comes to mind....

Uncommon in FPS so I wouldn't expect it...

how about lean? Think I remember reading that L/R on d-pad = Lean while aiming... coulda been a different game though

Leaning is in, no word has been mentioned on interactive cover besides it stopping your slide and bringing you into a crouch, there is no bullet penetration in case you were wondering that too.

ZERO bullet penetration?

what about thin materials like aluminum siding/fences?

that's fairly common i think...

Also the slide will break your fall to reduce or prevent fall damage, and can be used as a slide tackle to knockdown enemies.

Ill find the source:

Quote:
BRINKish.eu: How hard would you say it is to kill another player in Brink? Is there bullet penetration?
A: Keeping in mind that damage is something we’re constantly tuning, in our current play-testing setup it takes around half a clip to take down an enemy if they’re not evading, with headshots doing extra damage on top of that. This is before potential weapon damage buffs and health buffs are taken into account. Brink does not use any bullet penetration for players or the environment.

hmm, I think he was probably being to broad...

almost all games let you shoot through materials as thin as a soda can... though maybe the arc has none? lol

They have all been repurposed as silencers and Resistance body armor.

I don't think even thin metal will have penetration. The only exception I see would be fences and cloth.
