An incredibly honest thread.

Ok so there are a lot of threads just bashing Crysis 2 PC atm. And alot of it is well deserved. However let's take a moment to be perfectly honest now. I finished the campaign in about 5 hours 30 minutes and quite honestly I had a really enjoyable time. IMHO this is one of the only FPS games where I havn't gotten about 3 hours in and just started wishing that the game would just end. Most FPS shooter do this to me because they are really repetative (kill X number of enemies in a closed off environment, move the the next area, rinse repeat).
Crysis 2 wasn't repetative at all and offered a lot to do with it's open invironments and suit abilities. So when the end rolled around was actually wishing the game would continue.
The graphics are beautiful (definatly the best NYC ever portrayed in a video game). <--- you can't deny that. Though the game really could benefit from Dx11. Hopefully if rumors are true, we will see the Dx11 patch on thursday. If so, i will be playing through the game again with dx11.
All those wonderful things being said.... there is a lot to be dissapointed with in Crysis 2.

The first and most obvoius is the not-at-all suddle consolization of the game. The lack of custom Graphics being one of the most irritating (thought i played on extreme with over 45+ fps it still makes me mad that there are no graphics slider, AA, AF, Bloom, Motionblur, etc.

Also, the amount of bugs are pretty rediculous for a final product. Sometimes my melee would just stop working, sometimes when i picked enemies up they would flip upside down, about 3/4 of the way through the game my money system glitched and i could no longer upgrade my suit because no matter how much nanos i picked up it was always at 0, etc.

The multiplayer issue is a bit annoying, but this doesn't seem that big an issue for me seeing as all i had to do was delete my cookies and everythings works as expected for MP.

And last but not least the lack of Sandbox was REALLY discouraging as i spent 50x more time in the Crysis 1 sandbox than i did in the actualy game. And the most irratating part being that Crytek didn't inform us that there would be no Sandbox included. If they told me there wouldn't be one at least i would have bought the game expected such. And i find it rather hard to wait until Summer to get my hands on it.

All in all I feel like I spent 60$ well enough. It's as good as any FPS and better than most as far as SP goes. And all rather annoying bugs and features not included... I'm still going to have enough fun in the SP to make it worth the money I spent.

I totally agree man! If Crytek would take 6 months and patch all these bugs, add some graphics options and maybe add a texture/shader pack.... that would be FANTASTIC! Course I'd want it for free seeing as I've already spent 60 bucks to see some buggy software in action.

I just wish they would stop dumbing down the PC version to make it console friendly.
