Air Stomp

Post » Fri Jan 30, 2009 7:49 am

I really like the idea of the air stomp feature but it is almost impossible to kill somebody with it. Its range is too small (or its a bug and it deals no deamage to people who stand away 1 meter). And can't it be a basic movement? Because to waste one armor slot is quite much for ( at the moment) such a lame ability.

Sincerely,

it's definetely better then it was in the demo but i think the main problem with it is that you don't have enough moments that it would be good to use it instead of shooting someone.

I think you don't have that much upgrade on your suit.

There's no real reason to use it. Even if it worked (which it doesn't, the slam needs to be right on the enemy and even then you are open to attack for 3 seconds), there are far better Armor modules to use. Enhanced Armor is one of the best in the game and I cannot see myself ever dropping it, especially for something as useless as air stomp.

And you will be shortly air stomped as soon as possible.

I love the move but thee best thing about the moudule is not the air stomp it is you get NO FALL DAMAGE on lvl 2. Perfect for those silent drop in moments. Before you start causing chaos

Air Stomp is great feature, especially on crash site when u fall from high structure, yesterday i got double kill with it. Just read some info about it, and u will learn, how to use it to dominate :)

In my hours playing the 360 beta, 360 demo, PS3 demo, PC beta, and PC game, I have seen 2 (two) people killed by airstomp; and one of them was me. I am not afraid.

Honestly saying i think airstomp may not be that effective, especially if the enemy's right outside the radius, but hey devs, u could add in a cool knockdown effect, right outside the kill radius, so even if u dunt kill, the opponents knockdown recovery time could be similar to the recovery time of the airstomper ?? guys im sure many of u have seen the teaser of bf3? u no the bit at the end when the player gets knocked down by a rpg blast? NOW THALL be cool :)
please dunt hate on me just giving my own thoughts :)

Lucky stuff happens to everyone, and yes I do agree with you, Air Stomp seems a lot more efficient in Crash site than any other gametypes, but that doesn't make it usefull.

I don't know if it's a bug, or they really intended this ability to be this bad.

However, some cool stuff happens with it, at one point I tried to Air Stomp someone and it failed, (surprise) and 1 second after I was Air Stomped and killed. Now see that was awesome :-D

Hey, was that in about the last ten seconds of the game?

*cough*

Just finished leveling up Air Stomp earlier this evening. As was the case in the demo, Air Stomp just requires you to attack from a decent height and lead your target when necessary. In general, it seems that in the final game you don't have to jump from nearly as high to get a full-powered stomp, either, so if anything it's been improved.

Unlike in the demo, the first upgrade for Air Stomp no longer gives you Air Friction, but simply prevents you from taking fall damage. The second upgrade is the same (you recover more quickly after the Stomp), but the number of Stomp kills needed to upgrade it fully is three times that of the demo. Yeah, it takes some work, and yeah, most players probably won't find it worth it. But hell, I love Air Stomp in all it's ridiculous glory, and as far as I'm concerned, it's the coolest module in the game - if not necessarily the most useful.

I love air stomp players. They're some of the best in game and they just want to have fun. :)

Had a sick quadruple kill with a stomp on Parking yesterday. Stomp is still a gambit even if you have a map favoring it imo, but hell I had a nerdgasm when that quadruple went down! ^^ Needless to say I logged off to make sure I wasn't gonna lose the stats of the stomp kills, they're like gold to me xD

And from the little amount of other stomps I managed to pull out yesterday on ppl full health with armor mode activated, it indeed doesn't feel that you need to be perched so high.

But HEY. Get decent height regardless! That's when them stompz are looking sweet :3

This definitely needs to be fixed I have never been killed by air stomp. People just look silly when they land beside me and I'm perfectly fine. Meanwhile they are stunned for a sec during the animation just long enough for me to kill them.

Yea I think making the power of the air stomp more would be nice since it's not used that much...

I think they should treat it like the explosion of a frag grenade; you know when you're close to it but under cover, it still whips a portion of damage and gives the ear deafening thingie.

one way i found that work is to lure a person near a high place then jumpm him :D how i do this is shot them once in the back to get them to run aound looking for the me then when they get in range jump pray and you ether fail and die or you kill them or you get lucky fail and still kill them becase you can turn on armor mode when you land :D i do think it needs a damage improvment
