If the game wasn't an obvious console port, I would have brought up Crysis Warhead (pre-patch). But since this is most likely the very reason that there is no 64bit exe.

+1

But judging by the performance between 32 and 64bit Crysis from the past.. this is probably a good thing.

64bit is only useful when a game uses over 1.5gb of RAM.
The only game I know of which does this is Crysis, after playing max settings, 3 levels in a row, and the memory leaks started building up.
Crysis 2 doesn't seem to have any memory leaks, so it isn't an issue.

P.S. Running 32bit Crysis doesn't suddenly make your 3.5+GB of RAM become useless, it's not like Crysis 2 is an operating system. So don't sweat it, because you're not losing any performance.

64 bits version was more stable and the only way to use over 2gb of ram, which crysis needed. 32 bit program can only address 2gb of ram.

Could try patching the .exe I have tried this on FSX and can confirm usage of upto 4gb when game is running.
