Game ESRB Rating?

Post » Mon May 02, 2011 3:11 am

I don't really care what it's rated. But an M rating would be nice if it kept some of the really annoying younger kids away. God, I hate mw2 so [censored] much, for so many reasons, but the M rating sure didn't seem to help it much.

to be truthful, I'm hoping for an M rating :mohawk:.

I...don't care. I do like a reasonable amount of blood, but I don't need people exploding into showers of gore every time they die. And the difference in immature adolescents between T and M games is completely negligible, from my experiences. So yeah, I don't have strong feelings either way.

I've seen every single gameplay video for it and I havn't seen or heard anything that would make me believe that it would be rated M.

But I don't care if it is T or M, its still going to be an awesome game!

That would be [censored] epic though.

especially if you just landed an amazing headshot on some guy jumping from one ledge to another and have all his dismembered pieces rain down on your enemies.

I was thinking if I shot someone with a pistol or a hit them with a gun butt, how awesome that would be see them explode.

I use to love gibbing and violence and gore....

the bloodier the better....

then I grew up.

Now.... I don't mind the red splash of "blood" indicating a hit (BFBC2 is a good example), but that's about all I want.

I don't need to see anything grotesque... and in fact, don't play those types of games or watch those movies anymore.

its all about your style of gaming. Not how mature you are.

It is pretty funny (we're sick people, aren't we?) seeing your foes blasted, literally, to bits. I just don't think Brink will be going in that direction. It just doesn't quite feel right, know what I mean?

Exactly.
I enjoy blood and gore in both games and movies. I especially love ridiculous amounts of gore, to the point where it's laughable or when they are sorta tongue-in-cheek about it. A good example of this for movies is "Dead Alive," and for games, Borderlands and Fallout 3 (Bloody Mess is the best perk ever)

I don't think it will either - it's still fun though.

I hope that there's a gibbing sound when you kill someone with a nade/explosive, without tiny bits flying around.

I'll be honest, 'random' unrealistic explosive gibbing I find kind of annoying personally. Now, good old fashioned 'realistic gore' and SOF2 style (or better/updated) dismemberment that's what I miss in games. I don't want a guy to completely explode if I shoot him in the leg with a shotgun at close range or whathaveyou, however shredding/blowing his leg off in a bloody bone sliver filled mess that totally works for me.
