The lips, the nose and the cheeks are those that go gnarly very quickly for me.
As do the tones, playing around with the skin tone creates a fudged appearance easily imo.
I have a strong idea of what I find actractive and will keep those three features in mind.
Pulling the nose out tidy it up in shape gently, set the lips to a size that does not cause "trout pout", this is done better with under / over bite than actual size adjustment imo.
Then the cheeks, mostly set mid level on all areas.
Then move on to the jaw and then chin, these are closely linked and are best looked at constantly by moving the head side to side.
Skin tone, general, shade, eyes and brow are those that really need to be adjusted.
Go slow and take your time.
This is how I do it, I hope it helps, or at least does not hurt.
Edit: change race as well, sometimes a face looks better with a different base.
