Will the PC Version have achievements?

Post » Fri Feb 20, 2009 2:44 pm

I was wondering if the PC version of Crysis 2 would have achievements such as the Xbox 360 version?

well, Crytek has its roots in the PC market, and making achievements work on all platforms is probably REALLY easy (wont get gamer score though - just a cool icon or something). I see no reason for them not to include achievements.

I don't think achievements should be on the PC. There is no reason and by bringing achievements over it is just bringing more console to the PC.

I think it will, why? Because they are already doing it for the Xbox 360 and PS3 regardless. It would be easy to add them since they have to make them anyway, and we all know it's going to be a Game for Windows game.

I can't see why they wouldn't add achievements.

I hope to god it doesn't have achievements. Probably the worst idea implemented in gaming.

Long distance Sniper Headshots ftw! haha. I'd enjoy having achievements especially for multiplayer... which is really the main reason I still actually play Crysis.

PLEASE DO NOT be part of Steam's VAC! They are a joke for anti-cheat and Steam is good but too many cheaters. Keep it seperated and made for PC only. Btw either update a better punkbuster system with it OR a better anti-cheat protection to prevent hard coded cheaters. Make the multiplayer interesting! :D

It won't require Steam, I doubt CryTek would ever do that..

What they need to do is properly support this game. The original Crysis and Crysis Warhead were basically left unsupported so the players of Crysis developed better anti-cheat systems. Punkbuster cause too many problems in Crysis.

That's true. However, some Games for Windows LIVE support achievements which can be viewed on PC's as well as Consoles. My achievements from Fallout 3 on my PC show up when I sign in on my Xbox. Pretty neat when it works properly.

Punkbuster over VAC? I have to strongly disagree with that statement.

I'd like to see STEAM's achievements.

Oh and as for the VAC over Punkbuster thing - totally. The one game that has caused me the most problems ever on the PC was Crysis Wars due to punkbuster with stupid errors.

Ha VAC isn't THAT bad. It works fine for every game BUT mw2. This is because IW failed at implementing the cheat system. VAC works it's just you can hex edit the executable for mw2 and disable vac very easily. But if they do implement it into steam I'm sure they'll get to choose the anti-cheat. Punkbuster has it's problems too you know. Hopefully if you buy retail they will let you register into steam so you can have achievements and such.
