NCR Karma. Please Reply

Post » Fri Feb 20, 2009 10:14 pm

I accidentally killed an NCR veteran ranger and it brought my karma down to low, in the beginningish of the game. I've finally started working on the account and want to get back on good accounts (Karma) with the NCR. Help me please?

What rep is it down to?

If you wear some NCR armour you should be able to help out I think. Try the bounty hunter quests.

Head to any NCR camp or town, look around for named NPC's see if they have quests to do, this will raise it up also.

Maco, I've used the New Vegas wiki to search for quests but it's just not cutting it.

I do believe you're out of luck i'm afraid. If you can't find anymore quests to do then you can't increase your rep with them. Either given on the character and slaughter them all or start a new NCR character build.

Considering "Dark hero" is supposed to be the highest mixed rep of that rep line that you can have, if you still can't use the NCR radio, my guess is that you cannot use the NCR radio if you have a certain number of points bad rep (don't know what the threshold might be).

The issue is that negative rep is never removed, even if you do things that still raise rep. Hence why you're a Dark Hero instead of Idolized.

Ok some areas that may help, but no details here as it's not the spoiler forum.
If the NCR are non hostile, as they should be and you've not failed "don't tred on the bear".

Try Camp forlorn hope, this area has a bunch of side quests that will bolster NCR rep.
You should get one to collect dog tags from dead NCR which you can pickpocket from any trooper.
The oyher one around is to hunt legion ears, from dead legionaires.

Also try Bitter Springs in the far north east.

A lot are in McCarran, and a fair few are unmarked.

The crimson caravan quests should also help too.

Finally the Mojave Outpost.

All advise I can give you is do every quest for them (including the Sloan quests), wear their armor and continue their main quest.

This is what you should do. If you've already done that there's no way for the NCR to like you again. You can still do their quests and even end the game in their favor, but you won't get the radio, or if you've already gotten it it will cease to work.

You can only change your reputation to Wild Child now, but that won't really change anything.
