you'd think after Far Cry 2's sandbox editor for the console versions (I know its the Dunia engine that was derived from Crytek's Crysis engine)......Crytek would encourage creativity....oh well......

But not for Xbox360 User...
U need a Devkit to use the Sandbox with the 360.

You didn't need a dev kit to make maps for UT3 on PS3.

I almost want the map editor more than the game itself weather you need a dev code or not sandbox 3 editor would bring a completly new perspective on game development and it could possibly lead to the community making multyplayer maps for themselves now that would be amazing s**t id pay another 60 bucks for it but at the same time I wouldnt :P

The map editor is coming as a free downloadable, FOR PC ONLY.
You can't use sandbox 3 with a controller.
It's not that simple.
Forge wouldnt work either, since forge only worked because of the lower graphics of halo, allowing a big creation area.
I doubt crytek would even bother with a small scale editor, which is fine by me, leave the developing and mods for PC.

I dont see an editor coming, but i dont like the attitude of some PC gamers who say the editor should be PC only. FarCry's editor was epic on consoles and its very acheivable. Some epic maps were made with the FarCry editor.

uuuff.... -.-*
UT3 is not Crysis2, first point. PS3 is not Xbox360, second point.
U need a Devkit or JTAG to use the Editor with an Xbox360 Console.
Its called RTE. Google "RTH" = Real time Halo ;)

Here is a possible fix that will probably make most gamers (of all platforms) happy. Here is my wishlist...

1. Give the PC players what they want and give them Sandbox 3 in all of its glory.
2. Give console players the option to download it for free if you link your gamer tag or something along the lines of that.
3. Give us a map downloader similar to Halo's file search.
4. If possible make it compatible for the mac because I sure as HELL don't want to go into windows 7 every time I want to make a map.
5. Possibly have it accessible to everyone (even people without the game, they might have a lot of talent and you lengthen the game life.)
6. Maybe update the game on consoles so that all you do (helping with the verification thing) is plug in your console and edit on your computer but play on the console (due to some bad computers).
7. Do something like bungie where if there is an extraordinary map that stands out from the rest, incorporate it into the multiplayer experience for all to enjoy.

This way you have a happy community, creative juices flowing, your training people to have a possible future in level design, and your lengthening your product a little longer on consoles and PC's. Either that or only give it to PC's and make your console community angry. :D (P.S. I might have said some stupid things but please just point them out, don't be a douchebag and troll about them)

UT3 is not Crysis2, first point. PS3 is not Xbox360, second point.

You got a point, M$ are kind of dikes when it comes to custom content and Xbox LIVE. But there is a chance that it does work with out a Deve Xbox.

1. Give the PC players what they want and give them Sandbox 3 in all of its glory.
I do know some time down the line I plan on getting me a PC copy of Crysis 2, just so I can play it when I get a new computer, but mostly for the Map editor.

3. Give us a map downloader similar to Halo's file search.
Now I know people are going to say "This isn't Halo, blah blah blah." but I have to agree with this, if there was a Map share system like Halo's that means the community of map makers can post their best maps on the map share, and if enough people like it, maybe Crytek can stick it in match making, it'd help free up time and people for other Crysis projects.

6. Maybe update the game on consoles so that all you do (helping with the verification thing) is plug in your console and edit on your computer but play on the console (due to some bad computers).
That would be cool, also nice, cause right now my computer svcks, it can almost run Crysis WarHead.

7. Do something like bungie where if there is an extraordinary map that stands out from the rest, incorporate it into the multiplayer experience for all to enjoy.
I kind of said something like that for #3, but oh well, I'll say this again. This is a very good idea, cause this shows that Crytek watches the community.

Not true jumper, turns out Farcry's map editor doesn't need a DevKit, I know a few people who have FarCry 2 and has used it's editing kit, and they have a normal $300 Xbox 360.

Farcry 2 on 360 had an amazing editor. Theres no reason why it couldnt be a huge DLC add on, although M$ are assholes with custom content like mentioned above but there is absolutely no reason what so ever why it cant be achieved because they already have rediculously good graphics for a 6 year old console so Crytek let it be known that WE the COMMUNITY offer you a new CHALLENGE......

The question is, do you accept?
