Another hardware thread

If I wanted to play Crysis Warhead on Enthusiast settings at 1920 x 1080 with an average frame rate of 60 fps.
What would be the minimum cost hardware that could handle this?

I'm currently running an amd x2 6000, with an Nvidia gtx 275 and 4 gigs of dual channel ddr2. I get an average fps of 20 to 25.

The CPU is the most important for crysis (From what i know) so you should probably look at that part the most, I'll let the others continue this one

The Minimum?

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gtx-295,2123-4.html

Here you can see the benschmark results.

So in your case it must be at least a double GTX 295 SLI System with a Q9650 or similiar.

Even the newest Dx11 Genetaion of grxcards dont go higher than 50,28 FPS on 1920*1080.

So you better start saving your money pal..the Gtx 295 are still pretty expensive.

bigboulder is suggesting last-gen cards, i think you want a newer generation card. SJentz is wrong, the CPU actually matters very little for crysis. I've seen pentiums play it with no problems. The GPU is a different story. you're going to want at least gtx460's in sli, or if you're a high roller, 470s or 480s in SLI. If you want an AMD system I advise you to wait for the sandy bridge series (6XXX) to come out, because right now Nvidia has the edge with their 460-480 series.

You see the 295 is not way weaker than the new ""gen" cards.
And in some shops this card is suprisingly cheap ( way more than the 480 for example)

And "screw" Dx11... dont waste your money for features which almost dont exist in games.

I was thinking about purchasing the core i5 750, would that and two 460's in sli be enough to get the job done?
