i was wondering because in fallout 2 marcus said that he was a mutant for the master so im guessing he was created 2103-2137 so hes about 151-185 years old and was wondering if they live forever if umharmed or do they die eventualy if so when

We know that they can live for a very very long time but we have no idea if they are immortal or just have five times the life length of a regular human.

Until one dies of old age, the world may never know.

I'm pretty sure I heard somewhere in game that they are immortal,but they can still die from something like anything else can.

Based on what I've seen I can tell you with complete certainty that they live for as long as it takes them to wander into my sights :gun:

On a more serious note, according to the fallout wiki, due to their exposure to FEV, their cells regenerate so rapidly they're biologically immortal.

So in a sense, I was right with my opening statement.

Its inconclusive. According to Fallout 1 Super Mutants [are thought to] die of old age. According to new stuff in the Wiki... somebody thinks they do not die, but constantly regenerate and live indefinitely.... I think they are confusing supermutants with ghouls, who are in a constant state of decay and regeneration.

Supermutants are sterile and can live longer than humans, but they are not immortal, they are just near perfect.

None of the usual signs of aging apply, unless the wrinkles are in places we can't see.
Tone of voice seems based on pre mutation ( and VA. )
Any physical signs or hints seem to be psychosomatic... eg Minsc and Boo, Lily and Leo.
FO3 they just got bigger, but outside of Science getting that big would strain all natural functions resulting in death for most.

If I remeber right, Marcus was talking about how old he was in FO2 along with the others. He did not give a date/number just something like "getting on in years." So I guess he was just over middle age (for a super mutant) then.
