Crytek just set the Benchmark Level for xbox 360 FPS

Post » Thu Mar 12, 2009 7:33 am

Game is amazing, from the opening intro moments to the SP, or the fast paced, cerebral pleasure that the MP has been so far.......no other game looks as good or plays as well online as Crysis 2 right now on the 360

UK Release today...so many of my friends have traded Homefront in for Crysis 2, even someone who is a keen COD Blops 15th Prestiege is impressed with the visuals on this game,

Hoping the SP gets some add on DLC in the future and cant wait to see what Map packs can be released for this game.

Job well done Crytek

Although campaign is really fun, it's super glitchy & the multiplayer is not well thought out. Really broken. Other than that, glad I traded in Dragon Age II for it, lol.

So far all my little play squad has met online problem wise has been some with weaker connections not able to bring the squad into a team instant action game, some getting a freeze on map screen or black screen

But its hardly broken, and so far for us UK gamers, its working just fine overall

Campaign had a few instances where the framerate went through the floor... Central Station and the Pinger for example. I had several instances where it went into slow motion because the game was trying to do too much at once. The whole screen went white and stayed like that for over 2 minutes the one time before I died.

Other than that though I found that this was the first FPS in years that has made me go "Oh WOW! This is AWESOME!" in a campaign.

They need to fix the dynamic host selection after every game, it's annoying.

Hit detection is shiiiiite, good game though, any game that makes u want to stick cod on for an hour or two is good in my book.

Crysis 2 > CoD Series. I freaking hate CoD with a passion, the people who made it need to be beat repeatedly, the last DECENT one was COD 2 when it was a launch titlte for the xbox 360 or close to a launch title. The hit detection needs a major patch, it's freaking broken beyond belief that's why I can't stand the team instant action. I've seen kill cams and the person wasn't even firing at me, he was firing 2 feet tot he side and I still died and I'm watching my bullets go right through him. I trade Dragon age II for Crysis 2 as well at best buy <3 bump to that guy for doing it too xD. Then again, beat Dragon age II almost 3 times..

New Member Here.

I have to agree that this has set a new benchmark. I wanted something different from the regular COD and boy did this game deliver.

I just wish that the hit detection was a bit better so you have more feedback when your bullets register on an enemy.

Apart from that getting into online MP matches are not a problem, graphics are excellent, playability is awesome. I'm surprised that Crytek turned this game around because I did not really like the demo in beta so I bought it mainly for campaign, but as long as they address the few niggles, are fast with patches and bring future map packs then I have officially put down COD :) and am trading in HomeFront as that really is a pile of crap.

Oh and another thing are kill streaks customisable? I can't seem to change the standard 3,5,7 streaks.

...

I found that this was the first FPS in years that has made me go "Oh WOW! This is AWESOME!" in a campaign.

Same here. Campaigns in FPS games have felt like add-on's for multiplayer games the last few years. Crysis 2 really delivers something fun. I have yet to complete the single player all the way through, but I'm already thinking of things I'd like to do differently, or try again on previous levels.

I was just on the Multiplayer and found it fun! Which I always feel is saying something, cause playing online as an Aussie can be a nightmare if the game doesn't have region filtering. But so far, so good!

Now if only I could find a group of people that realise how to play a Objective based game... Had many matches where half the team had a zero score in pod capturing at the end of Crash Site match.

Yeah, hopefully people online will learn to play the team modes as a team!
