It would be impossible as of now. PC has dedicated servers while consoles have peer 2 peer server

Not all console MP games have P2P servers.MAG and Homefront use dedicated servers.

And I might be wrong,but all PC games aren't running on dedicated servers either.

I don't see why you all think this question is so absurd. Portal 2 on the PS3 is going to have cross platform play with the PC via Steam. So it's not such a far fetched question these days.

thats portal, the only other crossplatform game was shadowrun and it worked poorly. like the microsoft backed shadowrun.

valve on the other hand has the skill to do it very well and they really have never been in it for just the money

You don't want to do multi-platform on a FPS especially with PC vs. Consoles. You see all the outcry about aim assist for the consoles in this forum! Imagine playing against PC players... You would not even be close to competing with them.
