I was fighting a feral ghoul and thought I heard it say "Dieeeee". This was confirmed when I heard a different one say it too. Did everyone know this and I'm just slow, or what? haha

I heard one say a growly "Paiiiinnnn" the other day. I don't think they say things much, and if you have music/sound effects on high + voices low, you may miss noticing.
In terms of game lore...no idea. Seems like eventually it'd be hard for them to talk...rotting vocal chords and such. :D

If pre-war ghouls can talk, I'm sure so can ferals.

It's probably remnants of their once-sane minds.

Don't see why they shouldn't be able to.
Feral Ghouls are those who's minds have gone to another realm.
But they're still human.
They're not animals.
And for anyone who says that their vocal cords is gone: They have the same regeneration ability that normal ghouls have.
I hate the feral ghouls though.
Much rather have back the krazies.

...They have the same regeneration ability that normal ghouls have.

I know it's a game and reality isn't quite in effect here, but what exactly is the 'regeneration ability' they possess? Because it sure doesn't save their gums/teeth.

The wiki says:
Specifically, the neurotransmitters affected in a ghoul's mutation are those responsible for cardiac and respiratory function in a healthy human being. These transmitters are continually regenerated at a greatly accelerated rate after the mutation sets in, carrying sufficient oxygen to sustain the life of the subject while being insufficient to retain dermal elasticity and avoid the resulting necrosis (much like what happens during the course of the disease once called leprosy), the result of which is the decaying, corpse-like appearance of post-mutation humans.

...which doesn't sound to me like it'd necessarily rule out the (eventual) decaying/loss of vocal chords. Vocal chords are not necessary for respiration or cardiac function. Of course, the wiki could also be wrong in terms of this lore. As usual, I wouldn't know... :D

I posted one of these a month or so ago.
Colonel Marty and I passed some comments, and I captured these screenies of ghoulies, making talkies.

Some more dialogue, ( at least one other ), but slow on the ol' donkey ride quick draw here.
