Science!! we all know it, we all love it.
What best bit of Science in NV makes you... happy, puzzled, crotchety, mirthfull or indigo.

Mine is that with the power of Science, I can take drugs and drink heavily causing these side effects..
1. Growing stronger.
2. Getting healthier.
3. Becoming faster.
4. Gain physical mass and force to my bullets.
5. Become adored by women ( hoorah ).
6. Resist fire.

This makes me happy as I can now.
Shoot better while drunk.
Take more than one blow before my head flies off from a case of big lizard syndrome.
Run faster than a speeding lightbeam.
Defy the laws of physics.
Get needed info and..
Enter a furnace naked.

So what's your favourite Science.

Radaway and Rad-X as well as stimpacks. Taking them can remove radiation fast and heal you right away (slowly with hardcoe mode).

As with any RPG that uses a typical leveling system, I can master any skill if I punch enough people in the face enough times. Also common in RPGs with guns, enemies can survive multiple point blank shots to the head, provided that (a) the caliber is small enough and (B) the shooter has not punched enough people in the face enough times (see first point.)

Edit: The cool smiley should be point B...

Courier: "Well... that was... different..." :whistling:

I like how a radiation doesn't make you sick and die, it makes you lose your skin and live 200+ years!

Also, after the war, even regular old Newtonian Physics can be set aside to give us the mighty Power Fist! It's not just a heavy steel glove, it has Pneumatic Piston Action that acts as an Inertial Multiplier just at the Moment of Impact! Got a Robot Problem that needs fixin'? Ka-Chank!!! It's down!

Also available in Super Sledge format.

Well if you think about it, Science is really just a big ball of happiness. You'll die without it. You can't live without it. Science is life! Science is the purpose for everything enjoyable and everybody we love. Including ourselves. Science is a huge bundle of joy wrapped into a California roll. Science is faith.

So, yeah FO:NV is my favorite Science.

One thing that has always puzzled me is how the terminals are able to function without a power source. You don't see any cords, fission batteries, etc. Is there a canonical explanation for this? It would be interesting to know how those pre-war manufacturers created such durable machines that can stay powered for 200+ years.

Not really much info on them..
In FO1+ they most were destroyed or broken even then, only a few left working.
Of those all were in high tech places such as the Vaults or bunkers.

In FO3 I think they were more common as Bethesda has a long history of putting lots of detailed writting into books and texts.
So as well as lots of old notes they added a Science based way to get the player to interact with these stories.

As to how they're still around Science based materials and microfussion cells?

@ Colonel Martyr not Science for much longer.. though after seeing a program on them I wish it was.
@ Legion Preatorian, very true.. logically speaking logic is luck in NV??
@Styles a very good Science fact there, nuclear winters are trouble no more with rad away.
@Karkeys, :rofl: .
@Mako, Dr Suess says plasma cat hats, sat back to back are down to Pat the rat, who likes old tat.

the physics of gravity in fallout new vegas make stepping on a simple crack will throw you 50 feet in the air (and break your back, along with everything else)

the courier has one heck of an immune system, since he eats 200 year old food and can still keep his lunch down.
