PS3 issues. HELP ME!

Post » Mon Mar 23, 2009 5:06 am

Okay, here is my issue, ONLY issue.

On ALL of the 720p only games, there are jagged edges EVERYWHERE!

Here are the things I have tried doing

1. Called Sony. Said I needed 180$ to fix it
2. Called EA. Could not do anything
3. Tried on ALL res settings, for both the TV and PS3
4. Tried multiple TVs
5. Tried multiple outputs
6. Tried ALL of the PS3 and TV settings
7. Tried another PS3, worked fine
8. Did a file restore/fix
9. Gave the PS3 a break
10. Smashed it on a stone wall until I was happy. No results... well, no good ones. By the way Xbox Fanboys, that was a joke

P.S. I love Microsoft, just prefer PS3 because of the graphics. I'm a PC and Windows 7 was Microsoft's idea... NOT APPLES!!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

I'd say ditch it and buy a PC, but it seems all the new games from here on out are going to either be ports, or console exclusives.

So yeah, were all screwed.

Now you know why the people like me are against consoles, where the companies totally control everything.

Aha, nice joke. :P

Getting back to the matter in hand though, it's probably your PS3, since the others you tried seemed to have worked.

Have you turned on PS Smoothing? It's located in the settings.

1. Ummmm, I own a PC, but it's junk. Can't afford to buy a PC right now. I'd rather pay 180$ to fix/replace my PS3 than to pay 1,200$ a get a PC. Although building PC's is the most fun!

2. Yes, I have determined it is the PS3. As I said, I have tried ALL of the PS3 settings. I'm not sure what to do

Hey, any chance it might just be the HDD?

I doubt it, Anything to do with Jagged edges must have something to do with the graphics card, well I think.

By the way, what did Sony say exactly?

Well, they said, and I quote the guy from the phone, email and other...

"We are sorry to hear about your PS3's issues, and would love to assist you with it. Just go to our website and set it up to send it in and have it fixed/replaced." So I asked... "Is it free? Can I do this without paying?" So they said "All you have to do is pay a small fee of 180$ to send it in."

They kept pushing me to pay for it, when I told them "I don't have any money right now, and I don't think it's worth it anyway to pay half the price of a new PS3, with a bigger HDD and slimmer design, just to fix a small issue. If I could fix it myself I would." So they said "No, you must not try to fix it by yourself. We do not recommend it. We don't give out the hardware or the knowhow on doing so."

I gave up a long time ago, but now that Crysis 2 is coming out, and if it's 720p, I will not get the best graphics!!!

1. Start a PC fund 2. Wait until Crysis 2 is about to be released 3. Buy the parts 4. Put it together and realize how much better the PC is

CCCode: Well, it is a big factor for the PS3 for me. I just want to play the game with the REAL graphics, not cheap junk

Laz0r: Uhhhhhhhh, I make 10$ a week. That would be 100 weeks, just for 1000$. No, not happening

Okay, you're either 9 years old and your only source of income is from your parents or you work for a Sweat Shop in China. Either way, you're lucky you even have an option to play video games with that kind of money. Stop complaining.

No and No. I live in Michigan, must I say more about job openings?

With that kind of money I bought a Zune HD 16GB.

Now, was that supposed to help me in any way?

They don't give out the knowhow to fix the PS3, yet people can still fix the YLOD. I bet you can get it repaired for less if you look around your community for people who fix YLODs. Maybe one of your parts melted?
