Yeah, I agree with that but I don't think letting you destroy skyscraqers and huge brick buildings would be wise, simply because there will be a lot of particles (low fps in most cases) and a chance to block your path to the objective whilst Crysis 1 had a lot of flat open space on that island and very simple sheds and that wouldnt be a problem.
But nevertheless there are some cool effects for instance: when you air-stomp near a container you practically twist it's wall from the shockwave (haven't tried that with explosives), columns get torn apart when shooting them...
Never shot at a tree though, tough to find those
it's a concrete city.
