Would higher health "fix" the multiplayer?

Post » Tue Apr 14, 2009 5:48 pm

Hey

I've recently read a lot of complaints about the multiplayer, it being to much like CoD in particular. The arguments that stood out the most to me were:

- Winning is based mostly on reflexes
- You die in a few shots, requiring you to look around yourself very fast, all the time
- Headshots do too much damage; after all, you ARE in a nanosuit

Now I think that, really, it would take just two small tweaks to fix everything:

- Raise the health, IMHO double the health would be enough
- Make headshots do less damage

What do you think?

I think it should take 4-5 shots to kill instead of just 3 (and theyre anywhere to the body). HS should be 2 shots for anything but a sniper rifle (1).

Im pretty annoyed that any noob can spray and pray me and i die... If i wanted that to happen i would go play hardcoe mode in CoD

A headshot is a headshot, but I understand where you're coming from considering the helmet and such.

Its only the headshot hitbox that is insanely huge, having more heal would only do like in wars, you empty the mag on someone, then get killed by the next person that see you while you have low HP . Im not even thinking about the snipper that would have to be rebalanced and melee that would become useless. and BTW, there is a server option to increase health already.

What is there to fix? The MP is by far the best part of the game, barring technical issues and general "not like Crysis Wars", which of course pisses off the Crysis Wars community.

I like the MP, but health is the problem. Just getting tired of seeing peoples kill cam where they just jerk their crosshair around me and their spray kills me.

Oh, and where are all the west coast servers? All the ones ive played in are 109-125ping... dont feel like getting outfragged due to latency all the time

i agree increase it by 1/3, we dont want to have to waste an entire magazine to kill 1 person in armour mode

I just think that it makes the player feel a bit fragile, and the original crysis you felt a bit more solid in your suit while running around.

Perhaps you could reduce the range of some of the weapons. Getting one-shotted across the map by an assault rifle does feel a bit off... I'm not saying I don't like it the way it is currently, it just feels strange for crysis.

Exactly, or keep the health the way it is for NON-armored people, but raise it when you get into max-armor.

If someone could provide/find actually statistics on damage w/o armor and w/ armor that would be cool.

edit: i think they should make the kill point texts (ie +100) stand out more. Half the time i cant even tell if i killed someone due to all the bloom going on

People seem to be expecting Crysis in the City, which is exactly what this isn't.

It seems pretty obvious to me that the combatants in MP are using mass produced nanosuits, which won't be as protective as the custom tailored ones the original team got in Crysis. (Coincidentally, this is also a perfect explanation for why the same nanosuit from Crysis does less in SP, you're an untrained nanosuit operator, and Prophet's suit wasn't designed for you in the first place!)

I've noticed that it takes about 2 or 3 shots for a headshot kill.

Again though, this MP is still great feeling, balanced etc, but it just isn't Crysis Wars.

This thread is based on a logical fallacy: the multiplayer does not necessarily need to be fixed.

For $60 my suit better not be mass produced! >.<

Its only 1 shot hs. Youre probably only hitting the neck area. Anyways, they either need to lower the damage or increase the damage taken in armor mode imo
