One would assume if a GOTY edition is released at all, it will be released when the other four or five DLCs are finished and released to the public.

Thats a rather obvious statement lol, perhaps i should be more direct- Is there a possibility of a GOTY edition being released within 6-12 months?

That depends. I assume, and this isn't official, that they'll all be released before TES:Skyrim is released (11-11-11), so I'd expect it to be announced roughly around christmas shopping season, perhaps a little while after.

No one outside of Bethesda/Oblivion knows the DLC release schedule. However based on the last games, those packs are usually all offered by the first year after release and the GOTY version comes out or is announced soon after the last DLC release is made.

So, the game came out in October 2010, so I would expect the GOTY version to be announced or released this Fall probably in time for the holiday shopping season.

Thanks and yeh i was hoping it would be approximately around that time but due to the gaming market and pressure for perfection with games and their DLC, i considered that it could take longer. thank you for the reply.

Not that i am trying to be a buzz kill, but assuming NV gets any further awards and any game of the year awards, besides PC RPG game of the year(it is the only one i heard of to be honest, there could be more awards) it has to get the level of Fallout 3 awards to get a GOTY edition, but i could be wrong.

It already has enough Game of the Year Awards for them to market the game that way

Let's face it, as a Fallout game I assume it could just have you as a psychopathic zombie Frank Horrigan terrorizing New Reno and then Vegas whose pastimes are eating brains and sniffing brahmin dung and it'd still get GOTY awards. Fallouts just that epic and totally owns Wasteland.

/Blatant Sarcasm to the Trillionth Degree

I imagine like the Fallout 3 GOTY edition it'll release close to it's launch date. Incidently Fallout 3, it's GOTY edition, and New Vegas launched on the same month. So I figure expect Fallout:New Vegas- Game of the Year Edition October 2011.

I doubt it'll cannibalize Skyrim sales as it comes out a few weeks before it. Yes published by the same company, similar fans, etc. But I expect Mass Effect 3 will be more of a rival to Skyrim sales.

Also expected is a likely boost of Skyrim by Fallout fans like myself who want to see what technology and prowess might be expected in Fallout 4.

Plus it gives insight to the franchise Bethesda made its name by. The Elder Scrolls is older than Fallout too. Of coarse what's considered Fallouts predecessor and what many consider the franchise succeeded atleast spiritually, Wasteland, was released in the late 80s.

Personally I'll be giving Skyrim a spin. As if I haven't heard enough of friends swearing by Morrowind, played a bit of Oblivion too.

And reiterating, FO NV GOTY edition most likely expected this October.
