Stereoscopic 3D in Crysis 2 - anyone jumping in?

Post » Sun May 17, 2009 4:36 pm

Here is a poll. I think we have discussed 3D enought that people know what it is and if they will be playing it.

If you are going to be playing Crysis 2 in Stereoscopic 3D, put a , and give a reason.

If will not be playing Crysis 2 in 3D, put a - (minus sign). and give a reason.

For me:

-

Because i dont have the money to buy a 3D Monitor, although it seems like Crysis 2 will be the first game to do 3D correctly.

DISCUSS!

"3D" is only how it renders the image on the screen to trick your mind into thinking there are 3 dimensions. It will probably separate the color channels like avatar. "3D" tv's are the same. Sounds pretty intense, wonder if it's the first game to do it???

Killzone 3 is doing 3d and announced it long before Crytek did, but that game is coming out in feb 2011.

Possibly, as long as my GT240 gives me a playable framerate (I guess I'll playing at minimum setting if I go the 3D way). I still don't like 3D for multiplayer gaming that much, since my 3D glasses are 5+ years old and only support interleaved mode. For single player I'm playing almost 3D-only. I hope Crysis 2 has adjustable convergence point for the crosshair.

I don't see Crytek making too much profit off of it. We are in a recession and people have less money to spend. So for 3D Gaming to advance is difficult because it requires the player to buy a new monitor and 3D glasses, which is very expensive. On top of the cost, it's an investment that many aren't willing to take no game so far has actually been able to do 3D correctly.

While advancing to 3D is nice, I don't think they will make much profit because of it. What we need is budget friendly game (Cryengine 3 does nicely) to work on old computers. We are in a recession, people don't have the money to invest in a new computer or 3D monitors. :(

HELLLLLLLLLLLLL no. I fell asleep watching my first 3D movie, and it's kinda screwy to my eyes. If I had a 3D monitor already, then I would do it, but seeing that I only have a PowerColor 5770, I don't think so.

ive played crysis sp in 3d several times useing the nvidia universal 3d drivers.
50 bucks download, uses the red and blue glasses.
they take away from the coloring a little but its still AWSOM.
i have 2 pair of the shutter glasses one wired and one wireless but i cant use them untill i get a 3d capable monitor, which i will buy soon .
its a whole different ball game in 3d all who have tryed my say its pretty cool
and its seems like u can see more in the game.

It could be good, considering it will even run on the 360 and PS3, But i am still not convinced that just because Avatar did it that it is the best path to go down in gaming.

I would say no, simply because the fps would be dropped dramatically and to keep settings maxed out you would need some serious hardware. I would rather play on max settings with triple surround monitors and have the settings to max to gain fps and smoother playback.....having said that I would like to try out 3d play just for kicks XD

I think it will come with the glasses and will work on any monitor (stereoscopic3D uses 2 different colour lenses). I will definately try playing in 3D first.

http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/22-Bundle-Samsung-Nvidia-3D-Vision-Syncmaster-2233RZ-120Hz-LCD-plus-NVIDIA-GeForce-3D-Vision-Glasses

£365 quid including v.a.t, which isn't too bad for a 3d monitor and nvidia 3d glass's kit.

I just bought a whole new power gaming rig for CRYSIS 2 and I am seriously thinking about buying a new 120mghz monitor and the Nvidia 3D kit just for CRYSIS 1 and 2 3D gameplay. It is just that I have a great 24" monitor now and I just dropped 3 grand on a new rig that makes me want to wait awhile.
