Good idea? Bad Idea?

So, I think it would be a GREAT feature to have a mode similar to Halo's Theater. As in, you can record ANY game, SP or MP, and watch it again, along with the movie making features. I'd love it

Someways that would be cool but I think it's a mad idea. From that there will be crappy Crysis machinima's, and it will sound like there trying to copy halo to much. And I don't want us to have the Crysis game tainted by console people who make stupid videos.

Well how about a game recorder, and that's it? I want to watch all of the cool stuff I'll do on C2 again and again

In most cases, it would do a good job, keep us entertained, but really, you don't see much machinima's out there about Crysis.

But yeah, I don't want Crytek to copy another idea, but then again, The engine or sandbox itself sort of provides tools if you want to make one (Flow graphs, Trackview editor).

Either way, people on the console, or PC will make something up, like any game really.

True. There is no stopping lame and purely stupid movies on ANY game from coming out. Just fill it with TONS of things to do with it and it will not be copying. That's like saying Battlefield is copying Call of Duty because you can use guns. Although, Battlefield was out before Call of Duty, but you get the point

I don't think the engine would be able to handle demo recording like that, it's not made for it, but we'll see.

Dont copy off of Halo.

But i think that a video recording system built in the game would be sweet. :P

Uncharted 2 also has machinima and I have to say it is an excellent features. When you have epic battles with nice streaks, it is a great joy to watch. However, as long it isn't affecting the frame rate or causing the game to lag a bit, then it would be a good idea.

I would LOVE a replay system, every game should find a way to do it, it's easy and doesn't use a ton of resources, Battlefield 2 started it and Halo picked it up, and I Always still prefer Halo just because i can record my awesome moments and share them with friends. Recording should be pushed to become a standard in all FPS's. It helps to create a competitive community and creates free publicity for games. When you show all your friends an awesome clip it makes them want to play and makes you want to play which keeps more players online. Replay is ALWAYS a great idea, there is NO downside to putting it in and NO upside to leaving it out...

I loved halo's theatre addition it just made braging so much more fun and easier but besides that watching your mistakes in game and teaching yourself to become better is why this would be a great addition to any game!
