Any way to get a refund from Steam for this steaming POS?

Post » Sun Jun 14, 2009 7:45 pm

Despite Steam's no refunds policy, surely there must be some way to "return" this absolute joke of a game. Almost zero features for the PC, even features that were said to be in by developers, and cannot play multiplayer at all.

I can tolerate a poor launch (I suffered through Black Ops and Bad Company 2 release, and never wanted to return those games), but this is way over the top. I feel like I've been swindled out of $60. Argh!

Unfortunately, no. Steam offers no refunds. You can send them a support ticket, but it'll either never get answered or it will be answered with a generic we don't do refunds crap. Your best bet is to do a charge-back from your back, but Steam will ban your account.. forever. So it's not really worth it to lose ALL your games over this game.

Sadly, the game is extremely fun but is plagued with multiplayer problems on an unbelievable scale. Heck, I can't even login. SP is quite fun thus far though and am only 2hrs into it. It has insane potential if they'd just fix this login crap.

You can get a refund from Steam, however you need to be assertive (but courteous).

Do NOT issue a chargeback, otherwise your account will be disabled entirely.

Alright, I'll give it my best try. I submitted a ticket... having spent a couple years working as a call center customer service agent for a major corporation, if I can't sweet-talk one of the Steam drones into a refund, I don't think it's possible. lol

Wish me luck!

Do this, and then if they still won't give it to you, issue the chargeback. Then go to war.

Unfortunately, getting ripped off by Crytek/EA for $60 isn't worth losing access to all my other Steam games.

I tell you what though, this incident is going to make me think twice about purchasing any other games through Steam. Unless I know the game is solid beyond all doubt, I'm going with physical copies from now on.
