Thinking I was tough stuff at lvl 4 in my first time playing FO3, and trying to claim Megaton as mine. Lucas was bad enough, then Jericho came out of Moriarty's with 3 or 4 other people and I just ran. I wasn't going to re-load a save, that town was MINE, damn it!

I found a certain alien spacecraft shortly after (GOTY edition) and came back with some more potent weaponry to finish the job. After doing a second playthrough, I realized things would have been a whole lot easier and rewarding if I had just gone into Moriarty's and talked to Mr.Burke....

On the road out of Nipton, i decided to go around two buildings where raiders respawn. I new there was risk of radscorpions in the open desert, but didnt care as I had combat armor. 3 Giant radscorpions engaged me and Veronica. I then stupidly ordered her to use ranged with her pistol instead of the power fist. We killed a couple of the radscorpions and veronica died. I will never underestimate Giant radscorpions again. I also wont take a shortcut through open desert again.When my companions die I dont reload, so Veronica went out of the game in a pointless way.

HAhahaha! Thats the best mental image ever. You'd probably find him more useful if you could actually pick him up and toss him at Caesar. That's all the good dead wieght can be used for.

Stupidest thing I've done? It's happened more than once.

Saving my game in my Wasteland Defense fort. Reason being? Imagine having a sandstorm going on with a HD texture pack, several weather / lighting mods mixing, loading up numerous mods that I have in my inventory, equipped, all of the damn objects from Wasteland Defense loading, etc.. etc... and trying to load all that without crashing and getting severe lag at the start... It's not pretty. I sometimes forget and end up saving then exiting there... then I just hope to some kind of miracle that I can get out and save then. If not, I probably just revert to the autosave before I fast traveled there.

Gameplay-wise, second stupidest thing I've done is take on a Deathclaw with Boxing Gloves at level 8 on my first character.... oddly enough, I somehow got it fatigued and managed to somehow kill it... after many, many tries.

I piled a bunch of bodies into the back of this trailer and blew 'em out with C4.

Not sure if thats really stupid, but it was fun.

Giving Boone a nice little weapon called Annabelle.

Oh, and high explosive missiles.

I stepped out of Doc Mitchell's house, decided to punch a bighorner.... (I didn't know I could turn them non-hostile by ''holstering'' my fists), next thing I did was running to Victor's Shack, my HP was literally one bar. Then followed a montage of me dying again and again and again.

Next playthough, I was at Goodsprings cemetry. ''Oh, those are just bugs! I can easily kill them with my 9mm pistol, and if they're too powerful I can just run away, bugs can't be that fast, amirite?''

Those are Bloatflies. A Cazador is a much uglier beast.

Going to quarry junction with only a Hunting Rifle and Machete thinking the deathclaws would be easy to take down like they were in Fallout 3. Got my ass kicked fifteen different ways.

First time I played this game I left Doc Mitchells house and decided to go for a wonder rather than play the main quest. I like to explore and discover the world for myself in these sort of games, complete some side quests etc complete MQ later. Now I was I think level 1 or maybe 2. Now to this day I'm not entirely sure exactly where I was but I now know I was in the general vacinity of the hellish deathclaw quarry. A 9mm pistol in poor condition, a laser pistol in poor condition with low energy weapon skill, a straight razor and a level 1 character lasts about 1.3 seconds against a deathclaw...
