I sincerely believe that the Legion should have provided one companion, just to counterbalance Boone. Dead Sea, the legionary mentioned early on, would have been a decent choice. I don't know what his unique quest would have been, though... maybe the destruction of McCarren, which would seriously cripple the NCR presence. Maybe by using a radiation bomb like the one at Searchlight, that seems the Legion's speed.

Perk: Blades of death: +10% damage and +10% speed with all cutting melee weapons.

----------------------------------------------------------------

I also like the idea of enlisting Beagle, once you get Meyers to take over Primm or get the NCR to take over. Either way, he's regarded as too pathetic to stay a deputy and cast aside.

His unique quest: "I Can Make You a Man"
You convince him to join you. All you really have to do is ensure that he stays alive while you gain 10 levels (he must be physically with you, no making him Wait Here), or following you as the pair of you defeat 200 enemies (equivalebnt to the Lord Death perk). In Casual mode, he can only be knocked unconscious three times, then he wimps out on you and returns to Primm. After it's over, you can return to Primm, and Meyers or his NCR equivalent will be impressed with how much Beagle has toughened up, and will offer him his old job back.

Weapons: Cowboy Repeater, Spiked Knuckles

His Perk: Scurry Away - When fleeing from an enemy, you gain a 15% boost in speed (only works with all enemies behind you).

-----------------------------------------------------

I also think a Boomer follower would be cool... maybe Raquel, though I have no idea what her quest would be. It would probably involve learning about the various places and factions of the wasteland, and maybe establishing trade connections.

Weapons: Grenade Machine Gun, Sledgehammer

Her Perk: Bombproof - Extra 15 poinds of DR against explosive weapons

Corporal Betsy.
Initial Perk, Cherchez La Femme Betsy Style: 15% additional damage (vs normal 10), and dialog options are a lot more sixual in nature. Shown as "[Betsy says] text".
Upgraded Perk, Black Widow Betsy Style: +15% damage (vs normal 10) to opposite six foes. Behavior removed as she is now mentally healed.
Behavior, Fiendish Frenzy: When a Fiend is spotted (Cook-Cook "did" her), she will charge into them with 200% firing rate and 50% hitting rate.
Weapons: Some kind of marksman rifle (default is ranged), with a pink Double D as a close combat *highly* special weapon (think GTA style :D). Fits her story actually :)

Longer questline to get her healed (The Curator?), and as deep in character as Craig Boone. Initial quest to make her able to join, is to find the root of her problems rather than having them laid out. During her mishap with Cook-Cook she was able to fetch the key to his throne room, which may be the only way to get to him. Once he's taken care of, she takes leave of absence to seek treatment, and this is where we come in. A much more gruesome story is revealed over time as she gains trust with us. Something to do with recorded holotapes and snuff, and a building of torture where of showing evidence of bizarre happenings of "sixual" character which you have to clear out and set free the remaning "clients". Pretty gross and morbid, I know, but plenty of depth.

I've always wanted a trained deathclaw as a companion. No additional Perk needed.

I'd like it if Sunny Smiles could be a temporary companion, maybe help you get to Primm and go back to Goodsprings, her perk would be like Veronicas but for campfire crafting, oh and when you go back to Goodsprings later in the game, the recruit dialogue is replaced by sixy time dialogue :hubbahubba:

:)

In that mod, her perk is a +10 to survival skill.

Orion Moreno - If you are siding anyone but NCR, Moreno could be persuaded into giving one last shot to help destroy his arch enemy. Like with any companions he would tell more about his past the more you traveled with him. Moreno would not judge your decisions no matter who you help and who you side with, as long as it's not NCR.
Personal quest, "Never Forget" where you could convince Moreno to give up his hatred and move on, or encourage his hate towards NCR. The former would give Moreno more health, while latter +5% damage against NCR.

Sunny Smiles - Something like Ian in Fallout 1, a low-level companion you could recruit very early in the game.

Benny - if you seduced him. Benny would be sort of a slave to you, and you could constantly remind him how [censored] lucky he is that the woman he tried to kill saved his life and even wants to travel with him. Benny could become quite loyal, especially if siding with Yes Man. Benny would leave your party if you side with Mr. House because that would put him in an awkward situation.

Marcus, for the sake of nostalgia.

I think if you're making a House or Yes-Man run....and are already past the point of no-return with the NCR...you should have had the option of cluing in Moreno that while you're helping NCR win the battle, when it comes to the war you're planning to go Fisto on them. I would think he would love to participate in that plan once it was explained to him....if only to see the look on Oliver's face when the other shoe drops.
