how to REALLY play Crash Site..

Post » Fri Jul 03, 2009 4:42 am

1. Get up early on a team. Preferably at least 110-0 or around that. Keep in mind the game ends when a team has scored 150 points.
2. Finish the game out by time limit. If after 10 minutes no team reaches 150 points the team with the most points is declared the victor.
3. When finishing the game by time limit just play it like a Team Instant Action.
4. DO NOT SECURE POD UNTIL THE VERY END OF THE 10 MINUTES. Such as within 30 seconds.

Everyone will get more points this way. And more than likely you will still win the game. It's so frustrating playing Crash Site when my team is up 140-0 and some butthead on my team decides to cap the pod for a mere 60 xp points.

This is the game mode where people can stack XP if played correctly, unlike Team Instant Action where each team is limited to only 50 kills a game. Thats less than 10 kills each player!!!!!!!!

Don't you see the fun in winning fast?

No, I have fun getting the most kills possible, while also gaining the most XP possible and getting the win... A faster win means nothing at all.

If anyone on here is down with this game plan, and wants to run some serious games feel free to add me. Only players from the US with Mics. (Sorry but playing internationally is almost always a bad connection)

We'll be on our 5th reboot in no time :)

How can you call this serious gaming... seems you should play FFA or TD insted. A fast win and not letting the enemies get a single point is much more demanding.

Then play Team Instant Action. Games have different game modes so that people who want to play a more strategic game type can do so, and people who only want to get a high K/D can also get what they want.

This is a perfect example of putting ranking up over just having fun. I miss the days of UT and Counter-Strike when people just played to win, (hopefully), and have fun. Now all these kids care about is the next perk, gun, trophy etc... they are going to unlock. It's pretty sad when you see people completely stop playing a game because they've hit top rank, (even if that's a mere 2-3 weeks after the game came out).

Hell I've played Crysis 2 with people who admit they don't really like the game - they just want to rank up. Why on earth are you playing something you don't enjoy??? I can think of few better ways to waste your life.

Just curious, have you 'calculated' xp-gain/min in anyway so you are sure that the way to play you are suggesting is better then 'fast' 150-0 wins?
I'm just thinking a 10 min game where you only get half xp from kills might not be as good for levelling as maybe TDM - fast rounds or quick 150-0 wins.

Exactly, you will actually get more xp by playing a series of fast games instead of the op's theory because each time you are getting the end of game bonus etc. Definitely works out at more xp/minute.

Dear OP...
I did some quick maths, it might not be entirely correct so don't flame me too much.
This is the game mode where people can stack XP if played correctly
The way you are suggesting people should play might not the best way to rank xp fast.
Clarification:
a 5min game with 1500points (900 of them are from objective) and the time between matches (aprox 2mins between every match that you are not actually playing. Loading screens and waiting to vote.) gives around 214 xp/points per minute played. 1500/7~214spm

Had a 10min game where i got 1640points (360points from objective, rest is from kills and such. i think i had 23kills or so)
Now here is the 'bad math'. Assuming you do a 'perfect round' the way you described how the mode should be played to max xp gain.
I replaced the obj score from the 10min with the 5min game making that 'made up score' 1640-360+900= 2180 which might be a somewhat correct score for a good game according to your suggested 'gamestyle'. To break it down to spm i simply divided 2180 with 10min match length + 2min between game time: 2180/12~182 spm.

So win as fast as possible (with around maybe 10 kills or so) gives aprox 214 spm
While win as late as possible (with maybe 20-25 kills) gives aprox 182 spm

So a fair conclution may be that your suggested way actually is worse for xp gain compared to go for the objectives and win fast.

Best for xp-gain probably however is FFA if you are good at it.
