What is up with all of the complaining?

Post » Sat Jul 04, 2009 12:51 pm

About the people complaining about the graphics, they sure don't play with HDMI cuz my graphics kick ass!

Well I play with HDMI 1.4 on a full 1080p 3D Panasonic VT50 and I sure can see how bad the graphics are. You're more likely to NOT notice it on a crappy panel than on a good one. Mine is a £2100 top spec panel and if anything is garbage then it will show as so.

I don't find the graphics to be any better/worse than WAW or BLOPS.

I don't think you have the game yet. Not better than WaW or black ops? you've got to be kidding me... black ops looks like a game boy color game compared to this.

Agree with Aeby on this one - despite the fact he obviously has no idea what he's talking about when it comes to P2P multiplayer gaming.

The graphics, while they aren't great, are certainly much better than CoD, maybe it's just 3D, try playing it on 2D Aeby?

All I want is dedicated servers.

That is a pipe dream.

Most likely. 2 more days for Crytek to state they'll give us servers before I'll sell it, then rebuy if they decide too :)

I really enjoy this game. Its one of my all time favorites. The graphics are outstanding, and the MP is just awesome. As iron_lemonade said, very few of the bugs actually take the experience away.

I am a really bad player, but I don't complain, I just play the game and hope for the best. I traded in Black Ops for this game, and I am glad I did.

I didn't say the graphics were garbage, I said my panel will show garbage up if it is sent to it (meaning good graphics will show well, bad ones won't).
The graphics are jaggy in places and blurred in others, water looks poor quality when compared to Assassins Creed 2 and the Red Dead Redemption co-op modes too, and certainly doesn't have the polish of something like Uncharted 2 or Gran Tourismo. Blops and this are very similar to me graphically. I expected better.

Awesome thread. Lmao at u cyrbabies lol get good kids!! Yes there are issues but if im correct(which i am) only 3 months ago BLOPS had trouble with matchmaking, partying with friends, the guns were unbalanced and the graphics were just unbearable... None of these things r brought up anymore however so let me see... It took a little time, but they fixed matchmaking and playing with friends, rebalanced a couple weapons and all of the sudden some of u kiddies finally went to theatre lobbies and realized the graphics were on point. They added more color than mw2 bc u morons complained that ppl blended in with plain walls. Give it time guys b mature about it lol like u cld even make a fps game let alone a better one. Graphics r amazing and gameplay is amazing. Balanced maps and weapons. Sure i get stuck in concrete right as i spawn, look around and strafe and youll b on ur way. Sometimes my gun stops shooting when i switch from single fire back to auto, dont cry, learn a way around it. Right now what i do is switch weapons or throw my grenade. U guys shl spend some time learning the game instead of non stop sprinting and power jumping ;) itll b ok i promise. Add me PSN: SloanKetterin Ill show u how to play

I just don't see how anyone says that this is the best FPS out. It just doesn't get across to me. Online gaming mainly relies on how well the matchmaking works, and how the host selection works.

Neither one of these are that great in this game. Most of the time, the host is the only one with a full four bars, and has a least a full second jump on anyone else. In a rare case, you get three bars, and that is only one, or two people that are in that room. The rest of them have just one lonely red bar. For this stage in online gaming, that is just simply unacceptable.

I'm an online gamer for the most part, so I don't buy games to play the single player game. If the multiplayer isn't good, than the game goes back to the store. Especially when there is a lack of support for their own game.

There is still a glimmer of hope for this game, so right now, it is sitting on my shelf, collecting dust. I'll give it a couple more weeks before I return this game. If there is a patch that actually fixes the P2P system, then this game has the potential to surpass almost any game out. Right now, however, it is sitting on the bottom of the totem poll.

I feel the same way. I won;t deny that I am a CoD (especially Black Ops) fanatic, and all FPS games have to compete with that IMO.

I find that C2 is a little unresponsive, especially when in a melee battle, but the truth is, since I bought Crysis 2, I haven't played a single game of Black Ops. (And I own BLOPS for both Xbox and PS3!)

Not because I think it's "better" (In fact, this game has a ton of bugs that piss me off) but because it's a nice change, fresh maps, new weapons, and the element of cloaking changes everything.

So yes, I am playing this a lot and enjoying it (besides the glitches and modders), but it's no "Best FPS ever" as far as I'm concerned.

I know there are haters, but I love BLack Ops.

Hello, I'm new to posting on these forums, but I have seen quite a few topics posted over the last few days.

There seems to be a lot of complaining about certain features, bugs, et al. Honestly, I'm getting sick and tired of it. I don't know if I'm playing a different version of Crysis 2 then the rest of you guys, but I'm not experiencing these crazy issues that are being mentioned. This isn't to say that I haven't seen any bugs at all though. The menu music randomly plays loudly, there are some connection issues, especially if I'm in a party, and there are some other small bugs.

But people here are making it seem like the game is absolutely unplayable, and I think that is ridiculous. I understand if some people are having genuine issues, but it doesn't mean EVERYONE is having these issues.

I'd like to hear some feedback.

Hi mate,

I played the game, well acrtually I'm still playing it, and I like it, but I faced some bugs...

You did not experience any bug. Well lucky you then, what about this (See below)

Hi everyone,

After reading this thread i thought i would contribute, the thing to remember is that everyone is entitled to their opinion, and that forums are meant for for a community of like minded individuals to meet and express our views.

My view on this game is that it is a technical achievement in its own right! I work in the audio design industry and i find myself often criticizing the audio aspects of some games, i personally find the audio a little flat in this game (especially the sounds during weapon reloads) but does that make it a bad game? of course not, should they sack the whole audio department? no they shouldn't.

I have dabbled in game dev and let me assure you, it is HARD! making a 3D cube in 3DS MAX is hard enough and even getting a decent render in Blender requires a certain ammount of knowledge and thats using a programming language like Python..

What Crytek have achieved here is a fun engrossing game on three platforms and they have done it well, very well..

Bugs exist in every game, i mean just imagine the ammount of work that goes into a game like this, the ammount of hours that have gone into its development! the various departments and the employees therin having to work together in perfect synchronicity..its quite a feat.

To point out bugs like the ones above is a bit nit pickity i feel, some things are just beyond the devs control, for example the famous items floating in mid air bug which has cursed virtually every game ever made! remember gravity is not real in your PS3 and sometimes objects/items just don't react with the virtual gravity in the game, everyone loves rag doll physics right? well the occasional floaty object hanging in the air is just a part and parcel of that feature and it shouldn't detract from the gaming experience in my opinion.

Lest we forget this is the first title to utilise the new CryEngine 3 so some minor bugs may be present but if its possible then im sure the devs will release patches to combat any minor bugs, but in my opinion the game is pretty much there in terms of completion and the devs wil more than likely be working on security and multiplayer issues before they will turn their attention to gameplay mechanics and this is how it should be.

The thing that gets me with all this complaining is this, we have all been to the movies and seen a rubbish film im sure, when we expected it to be good right? but we dont kick off and moan about it for ages or hunt down the director and fire bomb his house..we just have a little moan to ourselves and sometimes to our friends and forget about it and move on.

What can you buy for £40 nowadays anyway? its not even a decent night out lets be honest..

Do i like this game? yes i do
What it worth my money? yes i think it was

So my advice is simply this, take the game for what it is, a fun piece of interactive fantasy to help you escape from the monotony of daily life for a few hours.

So put the kettle on, shoot some aliens and have fun.

Regards, mistincat.

Some of the whining is far too excessive, but the main issues seem to be that the net code is messed up, so it doesnt arrange mp games very well, and u end up with ppl from other sides of world playing against each other, and thus there can be bad lag on screen. The host has a considerable advantage in this game too.

Not everyone will experience this, and its nothing to do with how good ur internet connection is before some idiot pipes up with "well my connection is 100mb and its perfect, so get a better connection", as theres ppl with huge download speeds have this kinda problem on any fps which uses p2p system, and ive seen countless threads on bc2(early days), blops, kz3 etc forums

Secomdly, the hit detection is kinda broken on it , or to quote another poster " watch it and sometimes you'll notice the dude never hit you?". This is the hit detection, its kinda whacked out, as u can hit ppl with many bullets and the game doesnt register it and will kill you, or as he mentioned then can shoot past ur ear by a foot and u die.

Other issues are glitches and ppl should chill the heck out.

the frame rate, well that aint getting fixed ill tell u now, if they could have made it better, they would have, but they didnt. Maybe given another 6 months, it would be considerably improved, but they cant fix it now, as it would require extensive recoding.

The resolution, again, its not getting made better. turn ur ps3 setting down to 720p, as it looks sharp enough to me. The res isnt everything anyway, as demonstrated by alan wake , asthat game , and this game use extensive post processing effects on screen to hide the sub hd image (includes 360), and in motion make the two versions look very similar, and i had 360 demo and tbh, it didnt look any better.

the stretched hud, just possibly might get patched later, but even then maybe not as memory was tight in game and this would require another 14mb of ram to patch in, doesnt sound like a lot, but im guessing things were bloomin tight already.

peace, and ppl, either play game or sell it, just stfu moaning, the games been out just over a week ffs.

Hi,

I really like the game, and as It's also said here, I like to play these games to have my "scape" for a while and kick some alien asses...

But apart of that I like also to help the developers to fix any problem that the final product has. And I think that C2 is really nice, I like it. but I will like it more when they patch the bugs that are here.

I enjoyed the game, and actually I'm still playing it.

So Crysis team thanks for this game... and hope you keep fixing it.

OK, I have to address this line of thinking. You can not use "a night out and a bad movie" to parallel this game. They are apples and oranges.

For some people, money is no object and buying games to throw them away is no big deal
That is not the case with me. I do not purchase games often. I bought MW2 and played it until BLOPS came out.

I have invested countless hours into both of those games, and when I do the math on my total investment, I spend less that 1/10th of one cent per minute on my entertainment.

What I am trying to say is, I don't just run out and buy games willie-nilly. I buy ONE GAME and I play it hard, for a long time, and I expect to get months and months and months of enjoyable play-time out of that purchase.

I do not think it is accpetable to just say "Well, you spend that much on a night out with the wife, no big loss".
The bottom line is, I chose to buy Crysis 2 instead of taking my wife to a bad movie, and I should get a years-worth of fun, glitch-free playtime out of that game, just like any other game I spend $70 on.
