» Fri Apr 01, 2011 7:26 pm I traded in a few games today, including my original copy of F3, to get my hands on the GOTY edition and all it's bundled DLC goodness. I uninstalled my original F3 installation assuming the GOTY one would also be patched up etc.
Disk 1 installed with no problems what so ever but now, when i put disk 2 into my drive to get to the dlc, there's no auto-run (which did kick in with disk1) and when i click on the cd in my computer the window becomes non responsive immediately. I can still open other windows and move my cursor around but whenever i go back to the my computer screen i just get a loading cursor and can't move or manipulate the window in any way. weird.
I thought maybe my machine wasn't reading the disk but after closing the stalled computer window in task manager i saw that my free space has gone from 7.2gb down to 4.6gb so something has definitely been added somewhere. The F3 folder itself is however staying at 5.6gb regardless of how many times i try to install disk 2.
With each attempt it's installing more data to my machine but, as it's not going to the F3 folder, i have no idea where.
My specs in case it'll help at all:
iMac with 2.4Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo running vista on bootcamp
2gb of RAM
ATI RadeonHD2600
My previous vanilla copy of F3 worked fine bar the occasional random kick out but nothing that stopped me enjoying the game. Until i bought the GOTY copy and headed back onto the forums i had no ideas there were so many issues with it.
