Armour lagging behing Stealth and Power modules

Post » Wed Jul 29, 2009 10:17 pm

I find if I'm playing normally I'll end up with 500+ XP towards the stealth and power modules per game (mostly play TIA) however I'll have only have less than 100XP towards the Armour module.

If I make a concentrared effort to enter armour mode for every kill (even if its not necessary) then i'll get somewhere around 200XP towards armour, but still not any where near the XP earned for stealth and power.

Anyone else find this? or doees anyone find they are updgrading armour as fast as the other modules?

Advice for changing playstyle to earn for XP for armour?

I suppose you get XP for walking around in the armor aswell. So it also calculated by the time you use it and not just what you do when your using it.

Power is my prob. Stealth is sorted I have used it quite heavely. Not sure if it helps but I do de-cloak before firing then re-cloak and also do a lot of sprinting when cloaked.

Cannot get the power up though. I have noticed that POW doesn't always light when I do sprint. So I'm trying to limit my stealth but it is still the big XP winner when points are dished out. Any Tips?

Lots of sprinting and jumping i guess, and use a power module that is easier to upgrade, or one that you think you will et more benefit from.

Guess I'll try to have armour activated more often, although walking around with armour on seems like an in-effective use of power.

Ahhh! so the Xp earned from the power mod goes into the suit power as opposed to general XP? Good tip :)

I didn't have the problem with armor lagging behind. Stealth got maxed first, maybe an hour or two before the others. But armor and power followed each other almost hand in hand. Power got maxed a couple of matches before armor...
I'm not sure why.
But I usually switch to armor mode when shooting people.
I use armor mode while holding the objective in Crash Site a lot (don't die as much from nades that way).
Always using modules that's not maxed out. Used threat tracers until it was rank 3, switched to energy transfer and maxed that one, switched to nano recharge and working on that atm.
Maybe some of that might be useful to get armor 'on par' with the others? not sure it has anything to do with it though...

I also had this problem since I used Stealth and Power much more in Team Instant Action. Here's how I managed to quickly upgrade my Armor:

- Play Crash Site
- Always run to the pod (you should be doing this regardless)
- As soon as you're in, Armor up and always keep it on unless you need to recharge energy
- Don't run away from grenades. Embrace the explosions!

I consistently get 1,000+ EXP with every match while Stealth never earns more than 100 EXP. I'd highly recommend this gametype if you want Armor to play catchup.

Yeah, i've always been a tdm guy in other shooters, but have been getting frustrated by random cloakers everywhere.

Crash site seems to be less prone to this and love having an idea where people are comiong from. I will armour up and look for the red nade indicators
