Fallout UK-US saves not compatible

Post » Mon Aug 03, 2009 9:51 am

Hi everyone, first of all!
I've been playing Fallout new vegas for ps3 and I've got a lvl.30 character and 50 hours of gameplay with everyone companion, weapons, etc...
I've this save in the US format and I recentelly buyed Fallout New Vegas UK, so I could play and download the DLC's in Europe and I can't load the US save to the UK edition Fallout.
If you know something, please say, might be usefull... :gun: :bolt:

Different Localized content, so the saves will not work. It would be like trying to play an American Language save on a Japanese localized version.

Localized versions usually are done only because of the languages. So, they use different voice actors, and obviously the ingame text and descriptions are in the local language. However localized versions can also have different content, usually it is content that is removed for censorship reasons.

Not sure what the differences are between English and North America is, but even patches have to be applied that match the localized content. Back in the Oblivion and Morrowind days, we fielded a lot of posts about patching because of this very issue. To that end, the save file denotes what localized content it was created on, and it will only load on that content.

Have you tried loading your North America disk in the PS3? It may very well run just fine as the whole Pal/Secam issue is moot with the HDMI connection.

If all else fails, I would look at as an opportunity to role a new character and play the game with a different approach as replayability is so high in this game. You need to play it at least 4 times for each of the major factions. I am currenly on my third playthrough from the beginning, and I have at least 3 more characters planned. Changing up your SPECIALs can have a huge impact on how the game plays.

Yes, the North America disk runs smootlhy without problems. However I need to have the Uk version to play Dead Money;
LOL, thanks for that. I've done a character that can be everything and I've saved between the last choices, so I can still have the four endings. I always put a lot of effort on the first character and compared with the other, it's like 100 effort, to 5 effort. It′s just because of that, not because I don't want to start again, but it's Ok

Yes, I've been there sometimes it's cool. I love Florida there, just saying I don't have anything against America lol and I understand your point of view. Also I'm not English, but everything around is English, so I'm used to that.
