Review + MP problems

Most of my points are covered by the review on here:

http://www.warpzoned.com/?p=4885

Which is fairly accurate in many, many ways. The story for the single player game is poor, REALLY poor. I didn't play Crysis 1 and have had to try and do some of my own research but even with that I don't understand where the Ceph came from, why they appeared, what their goal is, for how many days/weeks New York was in such a state and so on...

The graphics part of his review I don't agree with, I thought it they were great graphics, good job there. They are right again however about the AI being bugged to death. During the *SPOILER?* final fight with the four guardians two of them ended up getting stuck trying to climb a wall. Not that epic. There were many occurances throughout the game of dodgy AI getting stuck in seemingly invisible walls. I also agree that there aren't loads of open ended options to be honest. There is one area and two ways of getting through it, sneak by or shoot them all. Even when sneaking by I didn't once have to bother with the picking things up to distract enemies lark as if I was spotted it was pretty easy to just swap in to armor mode and put a silenced marshall round in their face...

As for the multiplayer I do find it really, really fun however there are a few points:

Why has the kill limit for Instant Action and score limit for Crashsite been reduced from the Beta? Seems stupid...

Hit / Assist detection is really off. Either I haven't got hitmarkers and still got an assist or I have got a hitmarker, seen him die half a second later and got no assist?

Hosting seems poor. I don't think I've ever once been in a game where anyone other than the host was at a full 4 green bar connection.

Sounds... You really cannot rely on the sound to tell you anything in this game. Noises seem to be coming from completely random directions half the time and killcams have absolutely awful matching of sound to what is actually occurring in the killcam. Would also be nice if the killcams lasted a bit longer (but only if they loaded faster...)

Music, music seems to start playing over MP at random times for no reason, also the heavy "game about to start" lobby music to get you going must have the most stupid amount of bass on it. Even with my speakers turned down as low as possibly it would still distort horribly.

Every 5 tag streak seems weak compared to maximum radar. Nanosuit Jammer, does it even do anything lol?

I really don't want to get in to weapon balancing as that is where everyone really has a good old moan, everything seems pretty balanced to me. I've not tried using a sniper for any greath length of time and I get killed by them so rarely I guess there's a reason people aren't using them but whatever.

So, in summary:

A gorgeous singleplayer campaign, just a shame about the story and AI (or lack thereof).
Multiplayer has a few problems but is still really enjoyable and a great feature.

First of all, I absolutely love this game. With that being said, here are some gripes of mine ;)

Sounds:
The sounds do seem to bug out occasionally. Dead bodies scream after I kill them, leaving me to believe someone else is around when there really isn't. Also, the announcer saying "We tapped into a Ceph Gunship" makes it sound like my team acquired a Ceph airstrike, when in fact, it's a hostile ship.
*Also, the music in the lobby clips no matter what volume you have it on.

Shots do not register when fired while cloaked:
I've had the barrel of my shotgun in players' chests on several occasions and what should be a one-shot turns into a miss and I'm left helpless with no energy. This definitely needs to be fixed. If I'm going to take the gamble to fire, my shots should at least register.

Stealth take-down:
I think the radius to be able to perform a stealth take-down should be just a hair wider or should be remapped to a different button. When I'm in stealth mode and trying to take people down, the last thing I want to do is throw a melee and leave myself vulnerable instead of performing a take-down.

Nanosuit Disruptor:
I have no idea what this does, if anything at all. I've used it 10+ times and haven't noticed any effects whatsoever. I thought maybe it sapped your energy or something, but I stand on top of enemy ones all the time and they don't do jack. Somebody enlighten me.

Maximum Nanosuit:
Also a stupid killstreak. I can't stealth while I have it, which would be fine if it let you take more damage. Seems like this triples your armor and ensures you will soon be dead unless you hide somewhere until it wears off.

Energy Transfer III:
Energy Transfer, Upgrade III claims to restores your energy to full after a kill, but sometimes it only fills to half or 3/4.

Unfair matchmaking:
I was in a lobby yesterday where me and another guy went 12-1, 15-2, etc. and got matched up on the same team 3 times in a row. The one time, the top 3 scorers were on the same team (none of which were in a party). This leads to a lot of blowout matches (50- 25 or less) scores. At least give the other team a chance!

Shotgun Inconsistency:
For this one, assume the range to get one-shotted by the Marshall = x

It seems like the Marshall's power drops off exponentially after x meters. At >x meters, it takes 2 (PERFECTLY placed) or 3 shots to kill, which is difficult to do before getting merked. Maybe that has something to do with the connection of players.

Yeah, any sort of description of nano-suit disruptors effects would be good!

Nanosuit disruptor I believe wherever you select it to be on the map is the only area it effects and it is a very small area and Im not exactly sure what it does when your inside of its range probably drains your suits energy.

I'd have thought it would do something like that but as jschmidty89 said you can just stand on top of enemy ones and your radar still works, your suit enemy doesn't get drained and you can still enter stealth and armor mode...
