I want some scary scenes!

Post » Thu Aug 06, 2009 4:26 pm

I would really like some scary scenes in this game, with the graphical engine it must be possible, shadows, freaky lighting and stuff can make this possible. The only scary thing in Crysis was, when I didn't knew there were sharks in the open sea, I jumped in a boat, went to open sea, jumped out to see how deep it was, and then all of a sudden, BOOM Sharkface on my screen, I was like OMFGWWTFBBQ!1. So, I'd really like some of these scenes in Crysis 2 :p^.

Haha theres sharks in the sea? Really?!
But yeah Crysis could do with a little more scary scenes. Aztec was a good start but after that everything got a little stale.
Also needs a knife and alot more blood, or at least an option to enable grotesque amounts of it, i know it makes everything less realistic but it also makes gameplay helluva lot more fun and satisfying.

The scary scenes did light up the game, but really, the game wasn't that scary, they only added moments in the game where you would pounce off your chair, and it really worked for some people. :P

I dunno really, unless you're underground in a dark environment, where the Crynet infantry are looking for you, the aliens may pick off each soldier one by one. I can only imagine though.

But yeah, this game is more action orientated, not dark/horror orientated. Hopefully that makes some sense.

Crysis was more of suspense than "scary/horror". There were only a few scenes in the first Crysis where something really jumped out at you. IMO, the scariest level would have been the Alien Ship, but that was only because it was dark and unfamiliar.

The Aztec scene made me jump out of my chair.

I hope that we get a couple scary cut scenes in Crysis 2, they are always a good way to freshen up the game just when the action is getting stale. :P

Scary scenes could do some good, but it was not completely fitting with the first crysis.

We already know the aliens are out there, so it's kind of difficult to make them scary in a surprising or suspenseful sense.

Not true, you can have quakes and stuff and then a massive alien appears, or you can be i an underground station and something keeps darting in the shadows which is a assain thing? A little bioshocky we u see the big sis that kind, even though you know what shes like theres the suspense of waiting to fight and the shadows are scary!!

the only problem with being scared in the Crysis universe, is that considering i'm in a multimillion dollar suit of nano armor, i also am armed to the teeth. <------not very scary

It would be scary if an alien popped out of nowhere and ripped a civilians head off.

Just because you know they exist and are there, doesn't mean they aren't scary. Heck, people get scared of spiders when they are everywhere, so people can get scared of aliens ripping civilian heads off as you walk down main street or something. :P

I think crysis isn't meant to be a really scary game but some suspense would add to the game's atmosphere I guess...

I think the original game had plenty of jump worthy scenes. It's always a bit nerve wrecking when dealing with the unknown.

The scene inside the alienship in crysis where the light turned off and when it came back on. A fukken alien jellyfish popped out in front of me, made me jump out of my chair! >.<

if you take away the scary impacting stuff, then the only other choice is to add a love interest.... hell no.
But we don't want Crysis 2 to turn into a generic Unreal Engine 3 game :)
(or do we? O_o)
Hell no, CryEngine is beautiful as it is, the last thing it needs is overbulked character models that move and handle like frieght trains, undersaturated and monotone colours and overbloomed lighting :S
Im just saying the option should be there for modification :) Actually it might already be under the command console, ill check it out later :P

That would TOTALLY destroy the game :S
