Hello, Im on the fence about buying this. i mainly play multiplayer and have played most of the PS3 fps, Im looking to get an idea of what a typical match plays like? Reading the descriptions (perks, streaks, gamemodes etc.) makes it sound quite CODish, but the suit powers and large maps seem to lend itself to more strategy?

Any opinions gratefully received

I suggest you wait 'til a patch comes out... Finding a match takes quite a while for some people, don't want another raging complainer on the forum. No seriously keep reading the forums, 'til a patch comes out then ask it again and we'll let you know.

Some things need to get fixed, but for me the game is a lot of fun, didn't play call of duty since I've had crysis 2 and I'm a big fan of FPS (especially COD). Others say that it needs a lot of fixing and that it's unplayable, that is why I suggest you wait a couple days/weeks buying it. Allthough it's your choice.

i think its excellent. i cannot stop playing it! driving the missis up the wall with the cloak engadged etc.
only thing ill complain is my NAT being moderate and the broken ass melee. rest i love

also ive never had a prob finding a match since i brought the game. it does lag on me sometimes but 90% of the games i have regular 3 bar connection to host

The MP plays like crap. it seems to get the entire lobby from one country then the host is always in another. Everyone lagging, 1 or 2 bars for everyone except maybe 2 people that will get 3 bars host full. Huge host advantage witht he screwed up matchmaking system. I barely break even if I do when im not host, when i'm host going plus 30 and 40's everytime.

Aside from that the way everyone plays the game is exactly the same. Everyone trys to run around stealthed as much as possible then turn their armor on right before a battle with another player.

If your really a fan of FPS'ers than buying the game for the campaign is well worth it. Its a great sinle player campaign with lots of plot twists and turns, with a real story behind it, very fun and entertaining. As for the multiplayer, as others have stated I'd wait if thats ur sole purpose with the game

You should probably watch some gameplay videos on youtube before you make up your mind. IMO it's the best FPS since MOH but that's my opinion and shouldn't matter much to you. We might have different prefrences. Yes there's issues but which new game hasn't got that. The issues people seem to have varies and NOT everybody have problems with it so you might be one of the lucky ones like me who haven't encountered much problems except for the occasional lag.

Like you said it plays like COD with superpowers though the maps are generally bigger to allow for a bunch of people running around like crazy. It seems like some people find it unplayable but I love it. One thing I really love is the overall speed in the game as I grew up on 90's shooters. It's very fun and empowering even when you have a bad game.
