I don't know about you guys, but I keep my nukes handy at all times
I got a modded Fat Man and 12 mini-nukes at my disposal. 6 alone can be obtained in Nellis, 3 on the farmer, 2 in the power station, and 1 on the top shelf at the munitions dump. Just use the 'grab and drag' trick on the box at the top shelf, drop it on the floor and a nuke should roll out.
Not the most rounded of weapons, but I love it like its my own son.
Fallout 1 had ~1 nuke in the game.
Fallout 2 had ~1 nuke in the game.
Some point to the irony that the PC can save what's left of the world with one of the weapons that nearly destroyed it.
Fallout 3 has a Fatman round near Vault 101 IIRC ~"Violence is [~~~~~~] funny!"; and it has a town that you can blow up for the hell of it. Truthfully, I think the idea of an arm-able nuke that can detonate ~fits, even the Church of the Atom fits IMO, but I always felt that characters in Fallout had more sense than to form a town around an old leaky bomb that might go off. The only way that Megaton could make any sense to me is if the bomb was buried and unknown to most people living there, or.... if Megaton were populated only by Ghouls (who loved the rads, and could dare anyone to attack them).
**Somehow I don't see Ghouls worshiping the bomb... To me that would only be nutty smoothskins.
I was annoyed when I realized just how much the new Fallout trivialized nuclear weaponry ~Totally un-series-like IMO.
