So how is this new engine gonna run, will I see better performance than I did with cryengine 2? Because although the first two games were playable on high settings for me, I'm afraid that my PC may not be able to handle the new game on its highest settings. Also, how will this new engine look, better or about the same as the old one? Thanks for any answers.

All I heard so far is if you could run crysis , then you can run Crysis 2 and actually get bit better performance,

crysis 2 is going to look better than crysis 1 on every single pc in the world. doesnt matter if what youre running then are "high" settings or some high and mostly medium, does it^^

Almost any PC gan get excellent performance with Crysis... on minimum settings, so in fact eye candy is VERY relevant to performance.

And what he meant was that because it has been optimized so much you will get better visuals with the same performance as crysis 1

I really hope so.

Better performance or not.....ya just know your gonna buy it....=)

my two cents worth:

since they try to make it look better on consoles they are actually improving medium and lowish settings on pc ... (dereferred lighting for fake-shadows and all that stuff)

but though they don't really "push the limits" / enhance the high settings the improvements they do for consoles and low settings will also affect the upper border of cryengine-graphics.

i think the linear level-design is gonna be the most important performance boost...
