Router - Drayteck Vigor 2800g
2 computers are hooked into it via lan cables, both using separate copies of crysis 2 and separate ea accounts.
The issue:
Well its a step up from the demo, after much farting about with port redirecting, opening etc, I disabled the port redirecting i'd done, and we no longer got the eternal logging in screen, or the "an error has occured please check your network" bollocks. So we can both login to crysis2 at the same time. (this was impossible in the demo)
However we cannot join the same game, it kicks whoever was in there first, and if we're in a squad, it kicks both of us, (this is from the lobby, finding a working server seems impossible). Now that we are able to login at the same time we are both experiencing random disconnects from any servers we do manage to join (mostly via unranked quick match setups). We were playing in 2 separate unranked servers at one point, but then both got disconnected for no reason we could think of.
Things the problem isn't:
Internet speed - its adequate for an xbox, youtube and a game all running simultaneously.
The computers ability to network with one another - can LAN any game imaginable, can also play together online in any game we own.
So port fowarding/redirecting is out of the question (it was only by turning it off could we both login at all, with it on it was either one of us could get on, or for some periods crysis 2 wouldnt let either of us get on).
I would suspect a hardware incompatibility more deeply if the crysis 2 servers weren't so terrible, so my main suspicion lies with crysis2 and its servers (both login and game servers).
Anyone got any thoughts on whats up?
