What is your greatest struggle to get that high K/D?

Post » Thu Sep 03, 2009 2:43 pm

I have been the playing crysis 2 a quite a bit lately and I have been uploading videos of my game play in MP on youtube but I am struggling with giving very good tips and/or advice to players looking to up their game. So what I wanted to ask the players themselves is what kind of advice they are specifically looking for and what situations they are struggling with.

If I can have something in mind while playing it will be easier for me to assess the game play and how to overcome some of struggles players may be having that are stopping you from a better K/D. Let me know what kind of set up you are using and i'll make a video on how to optimize the current set up to your play style you play.

My YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/Inconsistentgamer?feature=mhum

I have a few videos using different set ups. I just would like to better commentate so you can take more from my videos than just watching me play.

My biggest struggle is winning 1 on 1 fights when a guy knows I'm in the area

i'd say :

aim for the head : everyone knows that but you have to do it ALL THE TIME! by doing that you will win a lot of more duels! not the chest, the head, every time!!

move fast!! : i can't emphasize enough on this. it's so usefull. get to places quicker, meet enemy quicker, escape quicker, even in fight it's usefull etc....
a player who doesn't run a lot will have less opportunities than the speeding rabbit who can get anywhere.

use nanovision : to check some places obiously, but even while sprinting, it's a blast

my last games :12/2; 9/1; 11/4 ; 26/3; 23/3........i must be near 2.5 in k/d

Don't look for the quickest way to them but the quickest way behind them. Man of times you follow the exact path they may take. Never do so. Always take a detour route they are not expecting you to take and get the flank. (we can practice some on the {IAM} server)

Yeah well he's trying to address people who have concern for their KDR, why did you feel the need to post this?

I once had a 41 - 2 in lighthouse on crashsite map, people thought i was hacking :( I would've had a 41- 1 if i didn't get too greedy and died in the last 5 seconds lmao...

My greastest struggle is getting like 22-2 or something like that, then having the connection be lost right before the game is over not saving my stats and also giving me a -1 win as well.

Happens alot...

How to maximize your efficiency from the ground up:
1) Take 1 or up to 4 seconds when respawning to get an overview of where you are and where your enemies/friends are
2) Decide what you do (join team, flank, hunt on sight, rush), dont just run headlessly into the map
3) Pick off the easy frags while passing high frequency routes by being smart with stealth and nanovision (quick toggle of nanovision is very helpful and minimizes energy drain)
4) Cover is essential, when shooting someone block at least one of your sides or reduce visibility by crouching etc. Practice a hit and run style if appropriate, balance it with retrieving dog tags when your energy is up again
5) Exploit your strengths, close quarter, sniping, medium distance, stalking, favourite weapon etc. all is fair except camping :P
6) Align yourself whenever possible to map geometry and enemy movement/routes, this is risky but if surprise is on your side, increases your accuracy immensely, especially in online play where ping induced prediction/aim compensation plays a role
7) Depending on the gamemode, safety lies in numbers, want to kill more and die less? Have someone protect your back.
8) Be disciplined and focused, dont run around with an empty mag, use stealth + voyage time to reload, be aggressive but not greedy for kills or dog tags, always, always, always aim where your next enemy is most likely to pop up, no matter where you're walking, this shaves half a second of your reaction time.

Good tips to those looking for some advice

Also do not be afraid to melee like mad. I think get murdereriser a lot because I switch to pistol then turn into boxing machine, particularly when I am trying to snipe but my proxy alarm goes off. Throw in some pistol shots and you can OHK people. The Majestic is perfect for this because once you land one hit your melee WILL kill. Oh and the slide melee is so fun.

Practice your melee because you can kill hackers with it. I loved once when I owned a speed hacker 3 times with perfectly timed melees. Grab a pistol you young ones because there is much to learn in the way of the FISTOL.

True dat. If you are in armor mode and you pop off a few bullets in an enemy with any pistol then donkey punch them, they go down very quick.

Use FRAPS.

1) Use binoculars to tag any campers far away while you're in cloak. This will alert your team of their position.
2) Move with your team as a group (safety in numbers) towards the campers using Voice to call out where you see them.
3) Throw nades into campy areas.
