My First Labratory

Post » Sat Apr 02, 2011 1:16 am

I wonder why the heck they chose for the chemicals to be made from it random? Wouldn't it make more sense to be able to choose a chemical to brew and wait for it to come a day later? I rarely use it because most of the time I end up with a worthless chem like Dirty Water or Mentats.

Anyone else feel the same way?

Dirty Water is considered a chem? Wow. I usually only get it to act as an extension of My First Infirmary.

Even though the My First Lab and Jukebox are pretty useless, I still buy both of them just to have everything for my house.

My first lab is the only one I want.. you can use crafting table at moiras, a bed for infirmary, pip boy for radio...

Last mission I got addicted to: psycho, jet, med x, and alcohol all in same mission. It cured all four in one go.

I agree. It's kind of lame the way it is. I got it once, but don't bother anymore. It would be kind of cool to have ingredients that you could combine in your lab to create the chems. Turpentine, Abraxo Cleaner, Sugar Bombs, I don't know. Kind of like alchemy in TES. Have it governed by the Science skill. You would think if you had a high Science skill, you could at least choose the chem you get.

@ Witchblade: That's true, if you use chems it could be handy.

Wow, really? Dirty Water?! That's an insult to the player. And how much do these things cost? It seems like a good few of them are useless -- thanks for the heads up... I guess there was always a reason I only bought themes.

I buy it just in case I get addicted to something along the way (doesn't usually happen as I'm not real big on chems, but I remember in FO1 I once got addicted to RadX... not sure if that can happen in FO3 or not).

Since I've got it anyway I'll usually just hit it up as part of my routine every time I pass through my house. Whatever it produces is free (ignoring the initial purchase price of the lab) and it often will produce something like buffout or mentats, which I use like money since merchants never seem to have enough cash and most of the chems are weightless.

Yep, it’s usually the only “extra” I buy. Sometimes I’ll purchase the Nuka-Cola Machine if I want an extra container. Maybe a workbench if I’m feeling lazy. The infirmary seems like a waste. At least I can recoup some of the cost with the lab.

That and because at least for me it'll eventually pay for itself in detoxing me. It's annoying how often my character gets addicted to Mentats.

It's a another thing to purchace in the game and there aren't that many unfortunately. At later levels I go about looking for ways to spend my huge caps collection I wish there were more house gimics to purchase.

I like the idea of brewing up new chems like the workbench by combining the other chems and ingedients in the game, may get a bit like Oblivion alchemy - that's not bad tho is it?

After a point about the only thing you can use your caps for is to redecorate periodically.

At the moment I'm trying to get enough 8-balls for a full rack and enough checkerboards to panel the floor. I just wish there was some way of sticking them down.
