Crysis 2 Sandbox Game Mode?

Post » Wed Sep 16, 2009 3:46 pm

So, will there be a Sandbox game mode for Crysis 2 (I play on the Xbox 360, so any news on sandbox on that would be great)? Could you give me actual evidence from the developers not just a 'vague written answer', please?

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but I never played Crysis 1 or Warhead- but I've seen many videos on YouTube of the sandbox mode on Crysis 1 and it looked pretty bloody cool- way better than any forge mode on Halo! And, so, I'd love to be able to use a map editor sandbox mode like this in Crysis 2 on the Xbox!

By the way, I'm desperately trying to catch up on the previous Crysis games' stories as I've preordered Crysis 2 and I want to know what the whole thing is about- so I've been watching many walkthroughs, and I have to say that the story is very good.

Thanks...

Personally I think that they are going to release it in a limited capacity and probably charge something like $10 from the market place (I have no proof of this but it's what I would do). As for the 360 couldn't handle it, well that's probably not true the 360 isn't bogged down with a super resource hog of Windows XP, Vista or 7 and has dedicated hardware to handle graphics, physics, and AI unlike a PC where the same resources are split among a ton of things.

Not to mention the 360 gamers want something more akin to the Farcry 2 editor than the full fledged awesome that is the Sandbox. Let them make maps for multiplayer. It's not practical to let them have an SDK MS would flip out about that on XBL.

I'm not insulting PCs I'm just saying that they need more resources because they run more thing simultaneously than a PS3 or 360. I don't claim any one platform as my gaming home I play PC, 360, PS3, Wii, DS, and every retro system out there (no PSP to fragile for my taste), so it's virtually impossible for me to be a fanboy of any one platform.
